using a sensor ... heck ... the neighborhood kids will keep playing with the sensors to test sensitivity and see how long the lights would remain on

Yeah I thought the cell phone thing was a really stupid idea. It just seems like way more effort than I'd want to put into getting the lights on. Maybe that was the point though? They wanted to make it a pain in the azz to turn them on and then most people would just walk without the lights on.
