that should really have been in the annoying co-workers thread :hehe:

nu uh!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I once called in from Jamaica and told them I had food poisoning. Pretty sure they heard the plane fly overhead just as I said it.....Damn him for having his house right next to the airport.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I disagree Jill! Some women do get severe, nauseating cramps. Some times I can't even concentrate because I'm in so much pain. I haven't used midol since I was 13. Thats really for woman who have little to no pain symptoms.

Kinda veering off topic here, but Yaz seems to be like a wonder-drug for women with heavy periods and lots of cramping. I started using it 3 months ago, and would never switch to any other kind of birth control.

Ooh and for the calling in sick part, during my young and not so considerate days, I once faked an allergic reaction to cashews the night before, then called my supervisor and said I was heading to the hospital and wouldn't be able to make it in for my morning shift.

Really! I guess mine aren't so bad, I do get cramps but Midol really helps. I just can't see one calling in sick one time per month, or else your sick days will really add up quick

I once called into a job from the bar at my bud's 21st bday party and said I wasn't feeling that night and wanted to try to sleep in to feel better. It was all good until he walked behind me when I was outside making the call and yelled "Jon's bday baby, we're gettin faced!!!". Yeah I had a nice meeting with the ol' boss the day I came back hahaha.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

if you didn't know about the work start date earlier then making a sick call would be a great thing. but if u knew it already that you should have scheduled a day off a way earlier.

I was off sick every single month for about 2 or 3 days because of it in highschool until they found something to solve my problem at about age 17. I went through it all, too. Ultrasounds, doctors, pain killers, etc.

Now I can't but ever since birth control ive been pretty much solved.

Same for me and my daughter - she is literally unable to get out of bed ...standing imediately causes gravity to kick on and then all hell breaks loose - we both take Yaz (although any BP works for me) has to do lightening the flow, thinning it bla blah bleh......totally off topic now

How about a post excuse? I skipped a 10-hour corporate meeting held on a Monday and designated as "mandatory" by skipping town (previous) Friday after work and then stating that I couldn't drive back Sunday night due to thunderstorms between (FYI, there really were thunderstorms that Sunday) so I had to start back Monday morning.

My lamest excuse ever was that my neighbours cat was dead on my driveway behind my car, and I couldn't get a hold of my neighbour to move it...and I didnt want them to think I killed it by running it over lol! Had to keep the excuses original and in rotation lol! Problem is I worked for same employer for over 10 years, so they knew my life pretty well, so I couldn't say relatives died!!!

My fiancé once had a patient call to cancel a few appmnts over several months, saying his mom died and he cancelled last minute.... My fiancé called him back and left a message saying 'sorry to hear about your mom, but I thought she died in January...' lol!
