Hey everyone!

Just wanted to update everyone that we arrived to our apartment in Seattle last night. Actually, we left the POE after receiving my I-94 in the early evening, and spent the night in & cooked dinner. The Immigration officers were very nice to me, and aside from waiting in line with all the other people who were brought in, our process took 45 min. I have no idea if it's because I'm moving here and have been through enough hassle these last few months, if I have a pleasant demeanor, or that I only had clothing & other personal effects in the boxes...regardless, they were sweet. I asked to make sure that it was alright that I come back in about 2 weeks to import my car (Honda USA's compliance letter has yet to arrive), and none of the officers found anything wrong with that. Once we moved my (few) boxes in, I called home to my family in Vancouver to let them know that I've arrived.

As some of you may recall, both my husband and I have been to Seattle many times growing up. I'm less than 10 minutes away from my grandmas, aunts, uncles, cousins, and childhood friends on both his and my side. Actually, right when I submit this topic, I'm off to visit my grandmas.

While we do live in a nicer area than the aforementioned people, it's definitely an area that's deeply in the throws of gentrification  . But my experiences as a newlywed in a new hometown has all the makings of a romance thus far.

Hope everyone's doing wells. Looking forward to reading your experiences of your lives Stateside.

Ensure u grab Lens favorite--A StarBucks!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
