I received my green Card with a error of gender, I read on the USCIS page the instructions to fill the I-90 and sent it with the original green card to be replace, then make an appointment to stamp my passport to be able to travel.

I made all these things and when I went to my appointment the lady told me that I cant get my I-551 stamp because the system did not have any record of my application, and I made a mistake by sending my card because if the card gets lost in the mail I must pay again for it. I had all the proofs on my hand that I am a permanent resident and the application was sent and she check my alien number and saw my status, but she did not help me.

Is that correct? Do I have any alternatives to be able to travel outside the country?

Thanks.

She was supposed to give you one. She has no knowledge what is going on. Besides your situation, IO should give

I-551 stamp at local USCIS Field offices based on USCIS recent announcement, please follow the link below :

GC PRODUCTION DELAYS

GOOD LUCK !......

You missed something (see below)... a much deeper issue that needs to be overcome first....

The lady at inmigration saw the status of my case in her system, so she knew that a Permanent Resident Card was sent on my name, but she did not see the I-90 application in her system. The aplication has sent on 5/06/2009. I talk by phone today with inmigration and they told me that is up to the consideration of the office to give the stamp. There is no rules. But thanks for the link I already made another appointment to fight the case. Wish me luck.

I went again to a new appointment with USCIS, the same thing, the lady told me that I cant get my I-551 stamp because the system did not have any record of my application. I show the resolution of USCIS GC Production Delays and she told me that is ok but I can not get my stamp because she did now know if I really sent my Card by mail. I call USCIS by phone and they told me that I can get my stamp and they can not track my letter.

What else can I do?

Thanks.
