hi vj'rs,

First I thank u guys for all the Info

My Interview Experience:

My interview was at 2:15p.m yesterday and v reached office 1:30p.m(45 min early).

There were 5 couples waiting in the waiting room.

V ver called at 2:40p.m.

He(IO) was very friendly and asked ''hi, how r u doing?''

He saw our ids.

He said that v need to take oath n said that its the standard procedure they need to follow.

He said everything will b recorded and they may use it against us in future as a evidence.

He asked about my status(h-1b),employer name n address.

He discussed about his family n his personal life.

He took out the I-485 and asked my full name, parent name and where do u live.

He asked when v got married and how long v know each other and where v live.

He checked his file n said that u have submitted the lease aggreement(i said yes).

He asked my passport and removed my I-94 and crossed it across the page with red pen.

He asked for photos and v gave our photo album.

While he was stamping I-485 with a stamp(I think it was approval with date) he explained that v will receive the 2 year green card in mail in 2 weeks.

He gave us a paper vich he took printout before us n marked 2 boxes on the paper and told us to read that and asked if v have any doubts.

The paper headlined as ''Interview Results''. File number/receipt number and applicant name is mentioned.

Below that it says : On may 27th 2009 you ver interviewed by USCIS officer........ (officer name here):

(first marked checkbox):

- Congratulations! your I-485 application has been recommended for approval.Within the next 2-4 weeks upon approval, the service will be sending you an approval notice followed by your legal permanent residence card.

(The above sentences r the first 2 sentences from paragraph and remaining info contains the contact numbers i need to call if i dont receive the legal permanent resident card in 30 days).

(Second marked checkbox):

Pursuant to section 216 of the immigration and nationality act, upon approval, you will be granted conditional permanent resident status for a period of 2 years.

(the above sentence is the first sentence from the paragraph and the remaining text explains how to remove the conditions).

He explained about the ''removal of conditions'' and said 3 years from may 27th 2009 i can apply for citizenship.

At the end gave a handshake.......End of interview.

--------------------------------------------------------

Before May 28th 2009 the status for I-485 and I-130 was not updated.

Today the status shows as :

May 27th 2009:- I-485: card production ordered

March 12th 2009:- I-130: case received and pending

The officer dint take my EAD and AP.

Does anybody have a answer for this question :

Congrats !..... You will get the Welcome Letter first in 6-10 days, but honestly I do not know when you will actually

receive your GC, bc there is a delay in GC production since the end of April 2009. People have been approved at the beginning of this month are still waiting to receive their GCs.

And another strange thing is that IO was supposed to take your AP & EAD back. You know what, maybe he has forgotten to do so. GOOD LUCK !......

IO didn't take hubby's EAD when we were approved. Seems to be a hit or miss thing. I've heard both ways.

Maybe he didn't take the AP & EAD back, bc of the GC production delay.

He probably knew that too but didn't want to say it.

Once you take them back & no I-551 stamp on the passport; basically you have nothing.

good for your hubby that he has the EAD, because he has a valid ID. The IO took my EAD and did not stamp my passport either because he said my CGC will be mailed soon, and until now I am still waiting for my CGC.
