Hi everyone J'n'T agian we have another question for the group.... my fiance in U.S. needs to know about MONEY!! when they check her finance record what are they looking for?? she earns a good wage with a goverment job but due to her eldest daughter getting married this summer her savings account doesnt look great (as you can imagine) will they look at the past year to see she can support me for the 3 months i'm not allowed to work or will they expect me to have a certain amount in my savings?????

For the affidavit of support they look at income, so long as this is 125% of the poverty level they will not be interested in savings etc.

Go to the USCIS website and look at Affidavit of Support or do a search on the website for Proverty Guidelines.

This shows the guidelines for 2009. Find the total number of people who will be dependent on her income (including you and her) in the left column, and then look at the corresponding number in the "125%" column. If she ends up interviewing in 2010 then there will probably be a new updated set of numbers from USCIS.

They do not check her "finance record" She must show she can support you with income or assets. If she makes enough income (based on 125% of poverty income) they do not need to know, and do not care, about anything else
