Not sure how many of you watch DH, but it's been funny lately. Susan is marrying Jackson cause he's from Canada on an expired work visa. So she was gonna marry him to keep him there. Then she found out she would lose alimony LOL!

Someone found out and ratted on them...two immigration officers showed up in his door step, took him into custody to deport him LOL!

That can't be real...they wouldn't show up like that? I mean with all the illegal immigrants in the country, they do not have the man power to send guys around in suits to round them up LOL!

I chuckled watching it tonight, cause he's from Canada...haha! They were making a big deal of him having to go back to his country and someone said 'oh relax, it's not that horrible, it's Canada, not Iran'

I was watching and laughing thinking of VJ LOL!

Before I had my interview I was nervous cause the only exposure I had about the interview process was what I saw on TV on all those sitcoms, and it was always this animated situation, and usually a fake marriage LOL!

Like that new movie with Sandra Bullock, it's about her from Canada and a fake marriage to stay in the US LOL!

Had to laugh...they make such comical light of it on TV... If they only knew what we 'true' relationships have gone through!

 Minniew and I were just talking about this in the off topic thread! Seems very improbable that two officers would show up at your house and drag you off to deportation proceedings. What I don't understand was that he was working openly in the US... and he was was down on a student visa, wouldn't that have expired years ago? I'm pretty sure he plays someone in his 30's... Unless he was one of those mature students. At any rate, how'd he get a job without status, and how is it that it took them so long to find him, and then how is it that they moved in on him so fast?

It's Hollywood, where you can age 15 years in 3 episodes, marry and divorce, give birth and a new ####### job all in one week! Haha!

They closed in on him because Dave overheard on the phone and ratted him out...he called the tip in, to get rid of him.

I know, those DH writers didn't do their homework... It wasn't believable. They should have checked with us LOL!

I was laughing too, I said to hubby, this is so unbelieveable! There is no way he could just marry someone after his work Visa expired and would be OK! But of course, it's TV land! Same storyline as "The Proposal" like you said, it's just not real! And then ICE showed up

Heh, I watched this last night..I found it extremely funny that almost every time Katherine said Canada or anything to do with it she'd shudder as if to say "It's Canada so it has to be cold!"

I'm not gonna lie...I can't wait for Mike and Susan to get back together!!!

I saw it too, way too unrealistic as far as I am concerned. I found it hard to believe it would take less than a week for immigration to come a knockin'. If it did take less than a week I think a non-criminal from Canada would be on the bottom of the list to be deported.

You know what's funny, if we saw this episode years ago when we weren't immigration 'experts' we wouldn't give this silliness a second thought! But now we know the ins and outs so we know it's ridiculous

 So true. Before I started researching the immigration process and was in the U.S on a student visa I did think the the immigration officials could come arrest me if I overstayed my visa by like a week or two. Ok its not a matter of could...they can, but they don't. It wouldn't have been hard to find me, i was only an hour and a half away from the border! They had my current address on file!

I find it hilarious when people on TV shows have something dramatic happen to them, so decide to move to the U.S and live with family (for example, in the British soap 'Eastenders' when Kat and Alfie moved to America on a whim for about 5 years now)... so they literally throw some clothes in a bag, grab their passport and go to the airport!!

My fiance gets annoyed at me because I'm always like "WHATEVER, YOU NEED A VISA!!"
