Well the good feeing I had today was blown away, instead of NOA 2 I got RFE.

I called USCIS and RFE was issued May 2nd, but still not received in mail today. But I think I know what it is, I sent in a copy of marriage license, and not the Recorded/Filed with courthouse. And that is okay, Im ready to send to them overnight.

Funny part when I realized what I did, as soon as I got NOA 1 I sent them the recorded copy of marriage license with my NOA 1 copy, guess they USCIS never matched it up.

Oh well, that is where I stand.

Without the RFE coding - I would think they would be hard pressed to match it up -

but it might not be for that

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Yeap, I sent copy of NOA 1 guess that was not enough to match up and letter of my mistake. For someone so educated, I was soooooo dumb.

None the less its good news, lol its funny to say congratulations on a RFE, but I will say so, because you know it that once RFE is sent, its only a matter of a week or so before you get your approval :) so keeping my fingers crossed for you.

You may want to check again as USCIS do not require original certificates only a photocopy with the I-130. Original Certificates are needed when you get to NVC.

Oh yes Hon, see I only sent them the signed copy of marriage cert. by the judge who married us, I did not send them the receorded copy by the county. Good thing I have 2 cert. copies on hand, and photo copies of the recorded copy also.

Its going ot be okay, as soon as I finish kicking myself.

Oh Beth, well my prediction was so close. But you know what, when you get the paperwork to them you will be approved!!!

We are so sorry it wasn't the approval Beth and really it is a simple mistake and please do not beat yourself up about it. They are going to approve you very shortly and you will be on the road to NVC.

Best wishes

Arthur and Roberta

Oh Arthur & Roberta, I knew some news was coming today, I felt it, but not this. I thank God Mohand is away from computers for next few days, I dont have the heart to tell him what a dumba$$ he married for this stupid mistake. I rather take a beating then disapoint him. But I know he will understand, and as he is, he always looks at the bright side of things.

That's just what I was thinking - since you don't go back to the bottom of the pile and it seems like only a week after an RFE is responded to it's approved! And at least you know it's not being used as a coffee coaster anymore!

I'm expecting a RFE since I didn't send in enough evidence, so I'll be glad when I receive it knowing that someone is waiting for my info and ready to approve...

So keep your head up, Paris, you'll have it before your end-of-May date (especially since I'm guessing the RFE and info will be at the Post office approximately 15 minutes after you open your mailbox and read it).

Samantha

P.S. For trinket - a marriage licence is legally worth nothing (it doesn't mean you're married, just that you're allowed to get married). The marriage certificate is what you get once you've been married and the minister/whomever sends in the signed/dated marriage license to the office where the license was granted. Then it gets interesting 'cause my state doesn't send out marriage licenses, just abstracts, which the Spanish Consulate didn't like very much when I went to register my US marriage in Spain. States' rights and all but it'd be nice if they did everything the same across the board...

Oh Beth, sorry you have got a RFE. I know when we got married they offered us the license back as well are the official certificates we said no thanks just for that very reason I just knew we would get mixed up with what to send.

Hope you get the letter real soon so you can get your long awaited approval.
