My fiance submitted our I129F form last week and he requested for our expedite processing because he will be deployed in march 2010. What do you think our chances of having our expedite request being approved?

I want to know our chances because I am thinking of submitting my resignation end of july and get my backpays from work and have all my stuff shipped back to the province so i can leave right away when i get my visa..

I think your chances of the visa being approved before March 2010 are good, regardless of the expedite. :star:

Little to no chance, in my opinion. Expedite processing for a K-1 is extremely rare and involves extenuating circumstances. If he was to be deployed in June of this year, to a front line "combat area"...possibly. In March of next year...virtually impossible. It is well within the timeline for normal processing. If necessary they may expedite the AOS process, I doubt the K-1. I do not recommend making any travel arrangements until the visa is in your hand.

just to calm your nerves a little:

we are not sure if my fiancé will get deployed and we got it expedited!

they just transferd him to a new unit which is deploying but he hasnt been out of the last combat for a year yet so he wont go with them. They MIGHT make him go in october for 5 months but still the military helpline helped us and expedited it.

Of course you never know what happens! but i know sometimes you need a little hope to calm your nerves ;)

oh and please make your fiancé call that line until someone helps you!

my fiancé was lucky and had the right person on the phone the first time but after that noone was able to answer the easiest question ...

and off topic: we will live in the carolinas too and found this beautiful beach as a wedding location, do you know yet where you want to get married? ;) if you like you can send me a message
