I just noticed that, apparently since January of this year, USCIS has its own version of a "naturalization self-test." It is a multiple choice test that then gives you the correct answer. You can get to it by drilling down from their "Citizenship" link at the USCIS home page until you get to something called "Study Materials for the Civics Test." (First clicked on "Citizenship Resource Center" and then "Study for the Test" under "Learners.") For some reason, the url address is very long, so I won't paste it here.

Hi,

How are you all studying the 100 civics questions? After reading them from top to bottom a few times I got bored... As a result, I created this simple (pure html) quiz tool that I am now using:

<a href="http://mysite.verizon.net/amaruk/tests/NewCivicsTest.html" target="_blank">http://mysite.verizon.net/amaruk/tests/NewCivicsTest.html</a>

Perhaps you find it useful too. Feedback is very welcome.

(Yes, I know there are other online tools available for this purpose. But I haven't found one that I like)

I am not into que cards but I think that is a great way to study things like this. I might try it one day too.

Cheers and good luck to you all!

Hi,

Is this link still available? I can't open it.

Just a note, the answer to 44 should be John Boehner. It needs updated after the last election. :)

Kev & Jena

Hi Kev and Jena,

Yes, you are correct. I noticed that I never updated the online version when the answer to that question changed... However, the file that I had attached to this thread (see above) has the correct answer to this question as I had updated that file before uploading it here. I have now updated the online version too (both English and Spanish versions).

It seems that the host of this test (Atspace) is not up 100% of the time which is why some of you have experienced problems. The host is up most of the time though. Anyway, if it is down when you need it, just download the file in my post above (English version).

Attached to this post is the updated file for the Spanish version of the test (CienPreguntas.html) for those of you who prefer that. Just put the file on your computer and open it with your web browser.

Cheers y Saludos!

Thank you so much for posting the link to the test. I had to navigate through a few pages to find a link that worked. Perhaps the working link to the test could be posted or pinned to the first page or somehow make it easier to find.

It's a wonderful tool that I'm sure many many people will use and will continue to get used.

I try to take the test every day using this link (I now have it bookmarked to find it easily). It's a much better way to learn the questions and answers than trying to study them from the pages in numerical order. I really like the random order in which the questions are asked.

Thank you again for making the study part of this process much easier.:)

Outback Annie,

Thank you very much for your kind words!! Yes, the idea of presenting the questions in random order and not repeating any questions came from Broma25 during the initial discussions in this thread.

I have now sent a PM to the admin and asked him to update the link in the beginning of this thread s I can't modify old posts myself.

For those of you who are new to this thread; please use the following link for the test as has been mentioned above:

http://amaruk.atspace.com/tests/NewCivicsTest.html

FYI: The old link (mysite.verizon....) was tied to my old ISP and the link stopped working when I had to change ISP due to a move back in the summer of 2010.

the book that they give you have ALL the questions. if you know the answer to them you will pass. Its very easy at least that was my experience. I study it for a two days and got all my answers correct.
