Hi everybody...I am already here in US, i just arrived last march 3, i applied for my SSN last march 6,2009...i dont know that it was too early to go and apply...they said it takes 4 weeks to verify my documents..well i just called today and ask about my status..they said its still verifying so my application was pending...did someone has this experience before?how long need to wait for my SSN to be in my hand?We got married yesrterday april 1... Can i apply my AOS without my SSN? please help me VJ's..im worried...this is another journey for us...thank you!!

went to SSN Office today with my grandy,,my ssn willl be here in two weeks,,I waited 2 weeks after my arrival..

try calling them often and ask,,maybe youre in manual verification..goodluck,

Yes,im so worried ahy it takes so long for me to get my SSN...its almost 4 weeks now....anyway i will do what the others advice me ..apply for my AOS...but is it ok to leave it blank the space where i need to put my social sec. number? thanks for all your replies...I appreciate it very much...thank you....

YES, DEFINITELY OK....I DON'T HAVE SSN UNTIL NOW. I'LL JUST WAIT FOR MY EAD AND THEN GET A SSN. NO RUSH FOR SSN. CONGRATS ON UR WEDDING.

March 14, 2009 Received interview schedule
April 11, 2009 Received EAD card
April 21, 2009 Interview (APPROVED) (2 months 17 days from filing)

April 28, 2009 Welcome Letter received
May 2, 2009 GREEN CARD received (2 months and 29 days)
May 22, 2009 Filed SSN
May 24, 2009 Got SSN at SSA
June 11, 2009 SSN Card received in mail

Naturalization

April 30, 2013 N-400 mailed (i used regular mail not express)

May 3, 2013 NOA priority date (received in mail 05/09/13)
May 8, 2013 Check cashed out, received text and email (N-400 accepted)

May 31, 2013 Biometrics

June 4, 2013 In Line

June 6, 2013 Received email and text N400 has been scheduled
June 10, 2013 Received letter in mail
July 16, 2013 Interview @3:30pm SFO

Yes, you can apply for AOS without an SSN.

Yes, you can apply for AOS without an SSN.

I think the key is if you name is already in the database from your POE. That's why the suggested wait is 10 days to 2 weeks since not all get entered as fast as yours. Best to ask if they find your name. If not, say nevermind and go back a few days later. Otherwise the manual verification will drag the process out for a long time.

AOS_honey: In the Social Security number blank on the AOS forms, write NONE.
