Once NVC declares case complete, will there be a need for more docs relating to the petitioner? When they say 'long" birth certificate, does this refer only to beneficiary's BC? Does petitioner need to provide anything else?

I don't think they need petitioner birth ceritificate at NVC or at the embassy. I think they refer to the beneficiary.

What about where to put the interview items in? Can we use a folder, bag or envelope? What's allowed inside? I suppose cameras and cell phones aren't allowed, right?

You can put the interview items in the bag, folder or envelope, they do allow you to bring your bag inside the embassy. I for sure know that the cell phones is not allow and do think that camera as well.

we were only a k-1 and now almost 2 years ago but we used binders for our evidence. i believe people are still using them. absolutely no phones of any sort or cameras inside the embassy they will take them at the security checkpoint and you can retrieve them on the way out. i just used my passport for identification purposes, never provided any birth cert. unless they have changed things that was sufficient although more information is always better since it seems the bkk embassy has become very tough recently.

best of luck!

Just don't forget that they have asked for the LONG form birth certificate! This means that it needs to be the form with both of their parents names on it. Usually if you specifically ask for the long one, that is what you will get! Just make sure you have that one and not the "short" form, as that will not be accepted.

At the U.S. Embassy / Consulate: Security regulations do not permit you to carry the following:

All battery operated or electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, digital diaries, pagers, cameras, audio/video cassettes, compact discs, MP3's, floppies, laptops, palmtops or portable music players.

All ladies hand bags/purses. Only a small ladies pouch in hand will be permitted.

All bags such as travel bags, back packs, briefcases, suitcases, leather, jute or cloth bags and zip folders. Only a plastic bag containing your application related papers would be permitted.

Any food item.

Sealed envelopes or packages. (What about Medical Report in Sealed Envelope?)

Cigarettes / cigars / match boxes / lighters.

Any sharp objects such as scissors, pen knives or nail filers.

Weapons or explosive material of any kind.

The list provided above is not finite. Other items may be prohibited based on security staff discretion.

There is no facility at the Embassy / Consulate to store prohibited items. You will have to make alternate arrangements to keep the same before entry into Embassy / Consulate. [/b]

I say this alot, but, I MAY BE WRONG,... if any more documents are needed, ie originals (if photocopies were submitted to NVC), missing documents...etc....., they WILL BE LISTED on a check list that is mailed to you PRIOR to the interview...as posted earlier, cameras, and cell phones are a NO NO in the embassy and will be removed and held for you at the security check point before entering the embassy...i attended my wifes interview and brought all of our paperwork in a laptop case (empty of anything but paper sheets)...only 5 photos were asked for....NO chat logs, NO phone records, they didn't even ask to see my passport at the interview window after giving a look of astonishment when being told i had visited peru 7 times to visit my wife...i was never even asked 1 question, and the questions that were asked , were very simple in nature, as i was told by my wife afterwards ( i dont speak fluent spanish)...good luck with your upcoming interview...
