I sent in my wife's I-485 package (K1 visa) last Wednesday. Since they haven't cashed my check for over a week, I double checked the mailing address and realized I make a mistake. I have mailed the application to Nebraska Service Center P.O. Box 87485 Lincoln, NE 68501, instead, should be USCIS P.O. Box 805887 Chicago, IL 60680.

I called the USCIS customer service this morning and was told that they will either reject the application or they will mail it to the proper location. Afterward, I have done some research on the internet and realize there is one person who have done something simular and didn't receive a reject letter for 9 months. I am tempted to send in the whole application again to the correct address. By doing that I am not sure if they will cash both of my checks or if it will cause more problem.

Any advice will be appreciated!!

Couldn't you stop payment on the check if you were to send in another check?

Thanks for your response. Yeah, I thought of that. Maybe to send in another package quickly, see if they will cash the new check. If they do, and hopefully with a receipt notice soon. Then I can void the old check.

The main thing that I worry about is that it might cause extra complication to the process by sending another copy to Chicago. Would they create 2 cases? Would they reject my application because of the extra copy?
