I have applied for AOS and awaiting NOA.

After I get the NOA, can I make an info-pass appointment for AP (something has come up that I wish to be home by 18th March).

Also, can I also request for biometrics to be done ? How much time do they give to appear for the interview ?

You don't need to go for your AP Biometric because there is none.

You can make an infopass as long as your situation is found below.

USCIS Expedite Criteria

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The criteria are as follows:

Severe financial loss to company or individual

Extreme emergent situation

Humanitarian situation

Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States

Department of Defense of National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)

USCIS error

Compelling interest of USCIS

If your case is at a local office at the time you need to make your emergency request, please go to the local office in person to make your request. Please be sure to take all supporting documentation with you.

If your case is at one of our Service Centers or the National Benefits Center, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to receive further instructions on where and how to send your request.

so I have to return by the biometric date or else it would be just waiting there ie. wasting time ? and I would have to reshedule biometrics while I am away at home ?

You can't request your biometric at infopass to get done right away. Based on my situation, my biometric was taken in different place not at USCIS building where the interview/infopass will be conducted. Try to search your local office and fingerprint building of USCIS in your city.

You will have to re-schedule biometrics if you can't make your appointment or else they will consider your AOS case abandoned. And what do you mean by "...or else it would be just waiting there ie. wasting time?"

Please read my detailed post on how we got an expedited AP thru the phone, even after we got told it couldn't be done. Also, we got an info pass and the clerk at the office told us that expedited AP's couldn't be done in person, and only thru the mail. We didn't believe this as other members in this forum have said that they got their ap thru the phone, so we kept on calling til we hit the jackpot with a lady on the phone.... you can read more about it thru here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=177190

As far biometrics....the first clerk we spoke on the phone advised us as follows:

"if you're requesting an expedited AP through the mail, try to do the request after your biometrics appointment have been done..."

I also read that in the forum from somebody else....

If you got your biometric appoinment letter, you can do a walk in, anytime, anywhere. We happened to be in Texas when we got our appointment for the Florida office, so I had the document sent via fedex to my hotel in texas, and took my wife to the closest ACS. The only question they had was, 'do you have your marriage certificate?"

Also, you will read from many members that the AP can only be obtained thru family emergencies. Please read the instructions for the AP carefully.

It clearly states that is done for emergencies, or other 'bona fide business reason.' When we sent our original request for the AP we said, we qualify under 'bona fide business reason,' and here is why. When you call and talk to the uscis person, they ask you, under which category do you qualify for AP; they give you about 7 choices, and the one we selected was emergency. Needless to say, AP was approved in 3 days, received it on the 6th day.

What I mean is that all further visa process will stop until I come back to US and take care of biometrics.

I'm not sure what you're really asking here, but I have no idea how you can leave the country without first doing biometrics.....

Again, have you received your appointment letter with the biometrics appointment on it?

Once you receive it, do a walk in!!!
