Lucky me, I just got e-mail with this;

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD

On February 17, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your mailing address.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

Since it was mailed out today....for the next day or two until i receive it from the post office...

I will be wondering what they possibly can ask for?

Hi there! We encountered like that before too in our case...my husband tried to call them and asked what it is and they only told him to wait for the hard copy because it is there stated...In our case they asked for the certified true copy of divorce decree.

Good luck!!!

I think you may be onto something.....

I sent a copy while it was certified for other reasons and made a photocopy (had to file for divorce in my native country too)....

it was not "certified true copy of divorce decree" with raised seal and everything....

I will update as soon I receive the letter....

Thanks

We also received an RFE. Our RFE was my fiance's (now my hubby) divorce degree with Judge's signature.

RFE could be anything. Its good that someone is working on your case.

Once you sent out your response to the RFE, you will have your approval soon... :)

Well...Slow mail finally arrived and I would never have guessed what they asked for...

Form G-325A for myself....not the beneficiary...myself in duplicate :crying::no:

I will check against the one I originally sent and

maybe i can see the difference or what they found they did not like in original petition...

I will send back first thing...on Monday

Why do I feel like doing this :bonk: to myself? LOL

In the past this has often times occured. We were told back when that many times the Embassy will actually see, yet still question documents that the people submit. The people here in the state dept told us that often times they will actually recontact different places where the documents originated, and ask for another copy so that they will know that what you submitted are not fakes, or forgeries, as in the Philippines the numbers of corrupt Officials are so high, that they can get these documents for a price if you know the right people or attorneys.

So many times the wait time is nothing more then them waiting for copies to arrive from the selected agency.

Not to say that yours is a signature missed, or information over looked or a question unanswered or missed.

Just thought I would let you know, and the same happened with us at the interview. We were put on AR and made to wait with no explanation in the end what it was for from the Embassy.

But after contacting every agency heard of including senators, and Congressmen, it was suddenly approved as fast as it was put on hold. There is no understanding the govt, and nothing they do is done the same from case to case. You will find out that it isnt you, it is them. Sad case for a govt, but then again they see a million cases a year, and they dont know us from their own coworkers. I guess ...wait, pray, and think of your loved one, and stay in touch with them because it is just a matter of time before they will be in your arms.

Best Wishes..

God Bless

Wait for the hard copy to send your Documents or initial Evidence to send to USCIS otherwise they may or may not receive it.
