Ok you all I need advice! My so-called friend has hurt my feelings very badly. I am sending this message anonymously because I do not want to let my identity be known but get advice from you all anonymously. Ok here is the story:

Ok, my so-called friend told me tonight that my husband may not love me because I am not his race. He is from another country and the women there are beautiful more than my race (she told me) and he must be using me obviously for green card. Ok, I am a woman of color, mixed race Cuban/Indian and African from the islands. I am not an ugly woman but since I am brown skinned it is a red flag that my huaband should have married a light skinned woman or a woman from his country. So, can you tell me what to do?

1. How can I know what to do? Should I leave my husband?

2. Is this person just being a jerk and should I just withdraw my friendship from her?

Please you all I keep crying. Do not judge me or think bad of me or make rude comments. I have been crying an hour. She really hurt me.

I know I need to be practicing being a better husband and listening to peoples feelings. Let me outline this, Your freind told you what your husbands preferences for woman are based on her theory that pale skinned gals are better looking then dark skinned gals. Also for that reason alone he could ONLY love you based on getting a green card.

I think your going to be ok... ignore your friend and tell her waldo said she needs to stop reading smutty magazines on what men find attractive.

I've heard this comment before and it just so happens that the men from that particular part of the world want a little different flava !

This person is just stereotyping, not reading mags, you have to know how to read before you read a mag.

After you have had a chance to compose yourself, have a talk with your husband. Tell him what she said, and let him confront your friend. People like to meddle, out of jealousy, or just out of meaness. There is no sense letting some gossip-monger destroy your marriage. My wife gets weird comments at work too, and it is sad, but stuff like this will happen.

1. Your friend is not your friend.

2. Sometimes competitive ppl want to cut others down so they can step ahead of you without regards for your feelings.

3. Go on with your life and live it and get all you want out of it and don't let anybody hurt you or block your way.

1 drop your friend.

2 dont let what your friends say effect your gut feelings and love for your husband

3 drop your friend, did i say that already?

and 4

are you seriously thinking of leaving your spouse due to what some idiot told you about her perception of beauty?

please stop that

if you are for real..please follow instructions laid out above :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

This post can't be real BUT if it is, you should not leave your husband becuz of what someone else says. If you leave him because you think he's using you for a green card, base your decision on something solid and not your friend's idiot opinion. Sorry but this is pretty ridiculous. Beauty comes in different forms, shades, shapes etc. Your love for your husband and the relationship that you have with him has to be strong enough to withstand one person's opinion on something so subjective as beauty. Please work on developing your self-esteem and improving your self-image.
