Actually, my daughter DID that for her science experiment in April hehe And it worked INCREDIBLY well as you can see by the following pics...

Because it was an "experiment", she had to have a comparison, so first she put just ONE Mentos into a bottle of diet soda.

There was a bit of a reaction, yes....

But then she put in a WHOLE ROLL of those Mentos and holy sh!t! The soda shot in the air with amazing speed and went almost 20 freakin' feet in the air! Thank God she got outta the way real quick hahaha.

And as you can see by the pic that follows, the photographer almost got drenched with the stuff too!

That`s cool...first when they started the experiment I thought holly smokes they shouldn`t show that for the kids to try at home cause I thought the whole thing would be worse than it really was.T` was cool

Watched a bit on the news about this, a scientist stated in the stomach the mixture wouldn't explode but you would definetly throw! Probably not the best thing to let the kids have together unless you enjoy cleaning up vomit.

These people have it down to a science, and by cutting holes of different sizes in the bottle and using different numbers of Mentos, they can get specific heights of spray that last for specific times. There's a guide on the website on how to do it: http://eepybird.com/dcm1.html
