Okay, where to start. I want to marry a woman who is in the US now on her parents work visa. What do I need to do just to get married? Is there any special forms I have to fill out. Again, were just looking to get married right now. I'm leaving for Deployment soon and she still has quite some time left before her visa expires so theres no rush for us to get her residency status changed. If we just want to get married, will it be the same as a normal marraige for now, then get her status changed later? Any help would be great! Thanks

What kind of work visa? H1B? Do they plan to stick around? How old is the bride? You can certainly get married but that's going to be according to the regulations in the jurisdiction you marry.

You can get married whenever you'd like. It will be just as valid as any marriage, regardless of immigration status. I recommend filing for AoS as soon as possible..

If she just files AoS and intends to stay after the marriage, there's a small chance your case will be suspected to be fraudulent (since she didn't enter on a marriage-based visa), but if there was no intent to immigrate on a work visa, then there wasn't fraudulent intent. How long has she been in the US?

Note some of the gotcha's tied to work visas: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=otheraos
