I am assembling the packet I-129F to send in and before I do I was wondering if I needed to get my fiances divorce decree translated to English before I send in the packet? Thanks.

It is pretty sure u have to translate it into english version cuz u will get an RFE if it is not translated.

The answer is yes. The question indicates you've failed to study the form's instructions. It is my strong recommendation you do so. You'll find it invaluable.

Same answer as above.

That's the point of reading the Guides and form Instructions. Many of the answers are found there and more importantly information is found there you wouldn't have thought to ask about. Reading instructions prevents errors that asking quetions cannot. By the same token, you would be the rare exception if you didn't have remaining questions after carefully reading and literally interpreting the guides and form instructions.

In short, reading first and asking later is the more sure road to a successful visa journey.

Futher on translations.... You'll want a Cambodia specific answer on the translations required at the Consulate stage. For China, the Consulate only accepts translations done through a specific official Notarial office called the Gong Zheng Chu. You'll want to know if something similar applies in Cambodia.

I think the debuty in cambodia will do it for you as long you tell them you need a divorce letter and they will translate to english. Usually the debuty who does your paper work should have provide everything for you in both khmer and english. also if your fiance took passport photo in cambodia, have him also take the 5x5. 5x5 in cambodia equal to USA passport size.

This is what the deputy gave me:

- Engagement Statement (2 pages, Khmer/English)

- Extract of Certificate of single (2 pages, Khmer/English) <--- here might be a divorce letter in your case

- Extract of Birth Certificate (2 pages, Khmer/English)
