Hello to all,

On the proof on the relationship, i have plenty of emails, reciepts of plane tickets, messenger conversations and cards we wrote to one another with the dates....

Now my question is...in preparing all this paperwork evidence, can i jot down somewhere on the sheet and highlight a specific point of interest...or can i put a post it note and jot down what i need to clarify to whom it may concern...

Like if i wanted to highlight the use of my check card and my fiance's use of her check card on the same day at same store... but there is soo any other distractions on the page,,,where can i write and jot something down to show what i need to show.... write it down on that same exact spot on the page...? or use like a post it note ?

Thank you

have a wonderful night

Pictures with captions are still number one! Highlighting significant info should help also. CO only checked out our 40 pictures. 4 per page with captions. Didn't even look at communication evidence. Both at embassy interview and AOS.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Sticky-notes can come off during handling or because of age. Try a yellow highlighter, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

If you want to write a small letter of your experiences together, thats fine. I did, and it didnt hurt my case. I also added 7 pics, ticket stubs, train ticket stubs from Romania, and a hospital statement from when i was there and in the hospital that we both had to sign, as well as our apartment lease that had both of our siggies on it from when i was living there for a year with him before i came back to the US to give birth and file for the K-1

Personally we had dated pictures with explanation on the back (one of which was him as a pall bearer when my father died + the obituary to establish time as well), ticket stubs, flight itineraries, a few mailings he got at my house when he ordered a valentine's gift for me while here, photocopies of packages addressed to him at my house, letters, emails, a letter my mom wrote him about how much she appreciate his help with my dad, and birthday cards my family sent him. :)

I highlighted his name, the date and address whenever it occurred on a piece of evidence. Especially when the writing was small or when it wasn't readily apparent that he was involved. Post-its can work depending on how you put your packet together. I had my in a presentation binder with the sections divided an labeled and individual forms (not sheets of paper) placed in protective plastic binder things. Definitely not necessary, but it made me feel better. I'm almost positive that you should label pictures though, so you're most likely helping there >.> I'm sure I read that somewhere.

I was pretty paranoid about getting an RFE so I included pretty much anything that had him in it. Only sent like 5 photos though.

Thank alot guys, thanks for responding with your personal experiences and info.... I appreciate it. This paperwork is driving me crazy, between two jobs and the gym and about twenty thousand copies of all my evidence...i wonder how heavy my package is going to be...

What about on HER COPY of the fiance visa...They say you have to send your fiance a exact replica of the one you send to USCIS.... SoOOO does this mean i have to label the fotos, and write down, highlight exactly the same way i do on the ORIGINAL package..or do i just send her the same thing but without all my handwritten examples and hightlights and labeling ???

hi let me share what i did... my petition is just 1/2 of an inch thick. ill enumerate what i included:

1. Cover letter

2. the 2 forms

3. my birth certificate

4. copy of my bf's passport (as proof of his citizenship)

5. birth certificates of my 2 kids

6. death certificates of our spouses

7. Letter of intent from both of us

8. evidences of relationship

a. boarding passes and plane tickets - boarding passes i pasted on a bond paper and photocopied them; plane tickets same procedure

b. hotel bills - phocopies only ( 3 or 4 only)

c. a photocopy of our engagement party invitation

d. airport stamps - photocopied the part of his passport where the airport stamps are and highligted them

e. pictures - SIX (6) ONLY with captions - i pasted on a bond paper , all in original

*** i did not include emails or chat logs...if u like to include those,, just 2 or 3 sets are enough, reserve the rest for the interview later at the embassy.

That all... just 1/2 of an inch thick.. I think it worked for me because only after 2 months our petition was approved.

Yes you have to sent ur gf an exact photocopy of the whole K1 package you sent.

i hope ive helped. Good luck!

your picturetrail is of more value than just for the interview.

my wife made up a photobook of the years we spent together in china before we applied K1. funny photos of a hike in a canyon, riding camels at shaolin, dressing up in ming costume in the forbidden city, train rides from beijing to luoyang, riding motorbike in luoyang countryside villages, making angels in the snow together, christmas parties, new years fireworks, dinners with her family and my co-workers, pictures of her family home and mine, shooting ballons by the luo river, shopping in the tang city, our apartment in luoyang, me meeting premier wen.

these are more than just pictures. they are a life together. Li said that the VO laughed all the way through the book, because it was mostly funny pictures. immediate pink slip. when people come over for dinner, the book usually comes out.

Pictures are secondary evidence. Sure, they help, but I can put you with anyone at anytime with photoshop.

What you need to file the petition is unequivocal proof that you have met in person in the last two years. Passport stamps... proof of travels/hotels/cc evidence that shows you in the same place at the same time... ADDED to photos and other secondary evidence is best.

We had a 10 year relationship before we filed and had travels for many years together. We sent pics from each trip and printed out credit card statements and highlighted all purchases made in our time together. Probably overkill for the initial petition and for dealing with the NZ Embassy but we surely left no questions.
