Hi,

I (beneficiary) had a change of address between NOA1 and NOA2. I called the US embassy here in Singapore and explained our case but the agent informed us that our case hasn't been forwarded to the US embassy here so they cannot do anything for us at this time. My fiance called USCIS and the agent said we have to write them a letter. Looked up online at the USCIS website, it says we can update my address online or fill up an AR-11 but I tried online and it only accommodates change of address within the US while the AR-11 does not guarantee the change in their database. Very confusing...

Anybody has an idea how?

thanks in advance.

When you get the NOA2 your file will be sent to NVC, it normally takes a few days for the file to leave the service centre and arrive at NVC, as soon as the file arrives with NVC you can call them and amend the address for the benefiicary.

Or you could have the petitioner send a letter to VSC or CSC whichever your I-129F went to, advising of the address change and for the file to be updated, although there is a very slim chance that this letter will end up in your file.

Hi Rob&Dawn,

Thanks a lot for your reply! I take it that until we get the NOA2 there is no immediate need to inform USCIS or did I get it wrongly?

thanks again.

It's important they know where you are because they will be sending your I-797/NOA2 approval notice. This is a document you will need when you file for AOS. It's pretty expensive to get a new one. ;)

As stated above, we don't see a lot of luck with people trying to change things with USCIS (doesnt' mean you shouldn't try ;) )
