Hello,

I am not sure if this is the right place to come. But I had to start somewhere. I am a US Citizen and my girlfriend lives in Colombia. We have known eachother for more than 5 years we last saw eachother about 3 years ago.

The problem is that she is there now and I can not go to colombia to see her becasue of child support issues. I love this woman and she loves me.... She comes from a good family in her country but not a rich one. She has no visa to come see me. I work on 9-5 Job but it does not seem to be enough for me to bring her to me.

What other chances do we have? Is there such thing as a marrige through a power of attoney in her country ?will this grant her a visa?

I might not be making sence but I need lots of help.. I have no Idea of how this works and neither does she... Guys I am cluless..

First, you need to post in the correct forum, this one is for the Philippines.

Second, you need to have visited her in the past 2 years, if its been 3 years now you need to schedule another visit before you can go any farther.

There are many links that spell out the requirments needed but the 2 year time frame is a show stopper.

I love this woman and she loves me.... She comes from a good family in her country but not a rich one. She has no visa to come see me. I work on 9-5 Job but it does not seem to be enough for me to bring her to me.

What other chances do we have? Is there such thing as a marrige through a power of attoney in her country? I do not know - you should look this up with a Colombian attorney will this grant her a visa? Marriage to a USC does not grant you a visa. You have to go through the visa process :guides:

Since you have not seen each other for the past 2 years, you cannot seek a fiancee visa; as one of the requirements is having met within the past 2 years. Again, :guides:.

agreed, and on that note i'll move this from pi regional to K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures General Discussion, as that seems to be the most fitting for his current situation.
