I have only one resolution this year.

- Keep positive through all these changes and challenges.

Don't feel bad ATeam, I'll be concentrating hard on staying happy too. There are a lot of challenges coming up for me. Finding a job in this economy is a big one. I'm going to enjoy my first year with Phil in spite of it all.

Ah.... I was trying to NOT do a New Year's resolution.. really have no will power.. but on the walk to work today (and for the past couple of weeks), I'm seeing the dreaded tummy of mine come back. A few years ago I lost about 40 lbs.. and I've gained 20 of it back.. no more I say..

So.. I bought a bunch of juice on the way to work today.. and I'm going to start a cleanse.. and I'm going to ease back into my old way of eating again.. no more binging on junk food cause I deserve it... You know what? I don't deserve that #######..

Next stop.. hopefully a few lbs lighter after a few months of eating better.

If you've done it before you can do it again.

Go girrrrrrl!

Do read all labels.

There are, to my dismay, too many juice(s) sold with tons of sugar and preservatives.

Buy a cheap juicer and try this:

some carrots (organic, no need to peel organic produce)

some apples (yes, organic)

a bit of ginger(so healthy, more makes it peppery, adjust to taste)

a wedge of beet (gives a great colour AND is awesome for digestion)

So easy to make, seriously. I do not like to fuss too much.

And the amount of health benefits in this drink are incalculable. Ha!

Or do what I do and eat like a pig and be so wired that fat cannot build up on you!

Hee, hee. I keep telling my partner that I have superior genes (my dad's the same way). Poor sweetie... it's not easy living with me.

To everyone else who wrote here:

Great work done to even think and talk about your plans to change something, or add something to your life.

That's how it starts.

I love that you put journalling Necrotica.

I need to go back to doing more of that too.

I agree! I need to do some more journaling too. I guess what I meant about concentrating on being happy is that when I was a kid I always assumed you were either happy or you weren't. There was no choice. You either felt it or you didn't. Do you know what I mean? It wasn't until last year that I realized that happiness is something that you choose. So this year I'm making a concentrated effort to choose happiness in my life in everything that I do and everything that happens.

Emancipation I know what you mean about not deserving the junk food. It takes me awhile, but I usually remember that I deserve the healthy food and not the junk and wonder what the heck I've been thinking! :P

My New Years Resolution is to not go completely and utterly insane as I await the entire visa process to finish. And to remain positive?

Okay...this one is very close to impossible.

I wish you, and all other couples going through this, all the strength in the world.

I actually went insane.

I always make a resolution to be more tolerant of others. I think it's worked most years. It's more a reminder to me to remember that I made this a resolution. I think this year I'll add another. To bring more joy to others. I've plenty in my life, I do share it, but should do it more.

I already posted my New Years Resolution in the New Diet thread, but Ill repost here :)

I want to make a dedicated effort to each of these this year:

-Make a decision with Buddy on what we plan to do, where to go etc (This one I want to be done preferably within the first 3 months of '09!)

-Cut out beer and wacky tobacky till I'm 10 lbs lighter

-Attempt to maintain a healthier lifestyle in general - Practice Moderation!!!!!!

-Wean myself off chap stick and all other lip dependencies I'm currently on. I believe this will be the hardest.

EDIT: e) fix this freakin laptop already!! freakin battery/power cord!
