best thing i can suggest is have HIM worry with all this, have him come on here to read and follow the directions, i can never understand when the benef. is the one always doing the work, its HIS petition for you. There are certain parts you will be responsible for and signatures but let him do the controlling of the flow. I would do the cr1 thru vermont and hope it gets moved to calif

thanks for your advices, yes he worries about all this as much as i do but have no time to come here, he let me handle it and send him links to read so he can understand as well, he knows i'm good as such things and he saw that in our marriage process, i organised everything so it went so smooth and fast.....

we might change our mind and go only cr-1 way, i'm trying to convince him not to send the I-129F because i've read some where here that sending both petitions can make things go slower and at the end they are approved the same day so no need to waste time with I-129F package as in vermont center the time difference between the two petitions is only one month; better concentrate on nvc step to finish the process quickly...

The beneficiary's birth certificate is not needed with the petition filing. It will be needed later and should be translated in a way acceptable to the specific consulate.

The expiration date is meaningless. The Consulates treat birth certificates as having no expiration, since the data they confirm is not subject to change. The same goes for a police report you'll need later (translated as well). No matter the expiration date, if any, the Consulate will usually accept one issued within 12 months of issue and definitely within six months.

quick comment to brnidokiegurl

Facts facts facts.

I think you are under the impression the beneficiary does significantly more than the petitioner.

I am not sure.

Both have to work together and not only one can care for all.

in terms of translations I am sure it is easier to find a translator to English in the country of the beneficiaryrather than finding a translator in the US.

I used a certified translation in France.

I have also a translation from Italian to do and will probably use somebody in Italy for it.
