These people are not living in poverty. And, they rely on their own without federal assistance. This is not to compare with those who rely on federal assistance, and living in poverty that has over 12 children. Many urban housing development groups have many families that are on federal assistance who has over 4 kids whereas those who have a home has like 2 kids.

But, history have shown that the poorer the family the more kids they have. It can be seen in India, China, Cambodia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc...all over the world.

The more I think about families such as this one and Jon and Kate + 8 I have to wonder what the effect will be on the children when they realize their childhood was plastered all over tv for the entire world to watch.

I could never do it but then again I'm also from a family of 8 children (7 biological). My dad was one of 9 (I think...I just tried to do a count and lost track).

These people live a different life from one I could ever live, but it works for them. I don't understand why people are so judgmental of them. As has been pointed out, they do not get public assistance, they love each other immensely, they care for each other the way families should, and their children are kind, loving, and well-mannered.

Maybe they wouldn't be so poor if they didn't have 100 kids. :innocent::whistle:

mawilson,

Exactly.

In this case of foreign countries, the chances of the first child dying is very high. Not only this is the cause for such high births. It is also the belief that the more the children, the greater a chance for one them to succeed in life. And, if they work on farms they don't need to hire outsiders to work on them. It's very easy for you to say things like that, but, to follow it is very difficult.

Well maybe it's better to have one or two children and actually *take care of them*

(I know! what a concept!) instead of leaving it up to random chance?
