I'm not sure about skype but it's probably in the options/preferences under a tool menu perhaps? I'm sure if you do a search here on VJ you're bound to find posts.

In order to print a screen shot you need to open a image program. Most operating systems come with paint.

Print Scrn > open paint > create new > paste > save

edit: cuz I can't spell ;)

Thanks JeffCloe/KimandRuss/Mo_Mati for responding. I tried running the skpeCDR.exe program but get an error saying "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application".

Anyone run into this issue? I did try screen prints before I posted which works fine but wanted to see if I can save it and then as my fiancee gets ready for the interview prep, we go through our files and pick and choose what we take with us to the interview.

We use Yahoo and Google talk as well. Sometimes we use one for calling and another for webcams depending on the technical difficulties we face with any of the apps/tools. I am trying to figure out how to do this in YM as well...

There are options to save logs in all of those applications. The files are probably stored in the programs folders or your documents.

To save your image in paint just click file > save and keep in a location for later. I did that with all of our documentation. Printed out what I needed when we were ready to file. A word of advice... back up your files to a jump drive or cd. ;)

Skype only keeps records for 6 months. You need to manually save the logs before they are dropped from the records after 6 months.

Off topic, but I have to say that I'm disappointed with Skype. I pay $0.30 per minute to phone Cambodia and rack up over $150 per month in fees on some months when I'm away. For that kind of money I think I should get proper records. I can work around this by saving all records monthly, but I shouldn't have to do this for the fees I'm paying out. Not only that, but the service is barely adequate and the cost of SMS messages has increased over 20% this year. I've also seen that the call timing meter sometimes runs as the phone is ringing, sometimes adding 30 to 60 cents to an already expensive call.

I also have Skype Pro and an online Skype number with a San Francisco area code, which does come in handy when dealing with state-side clients who might have unfounded reservations about working with an overseas developer. The only problem with my Skype number is that it always changes numbers in the client's caller ID when they receive a call from me. I'm paying for a static number and it should reflect my static number in the receiving party's caller ID. Sometimes the area code is from an entirely different region, like last month when i phoned a client in Oakland California and he had my area code as originating from Boston instead of San Francisco.

I don't know of any competitive players in the VOIP market yet, but I'll jump to another provider as soon as I find one.

I use a Mac. I have saved all history. It's in the window drop down at the top of the screen, under "history" If you have Apple - shift,apple,4 and copy the page. save it to your pictures, desktop or documents and print it . Easy.

^^ My husband and I use skype most of the time. You may see the history of calls from the option/tab above for "history" (if your using pc) and a clock icon (if your using mac) just click it and use screen shots. Screen shots application for pc is downloadable, just google for screen shots and in mac just press apple key then shift and number 3 it will save automatically to your default folder (usually its in desktop)....
