Awesome, went to get mail, my 10yr greencard was here!!! did not recieve an approval email....SOOO happy!! We are done!! :dance:

AOS approved April 12th 2006!!

4/01/08 mailed I-751 to Nebraska

4/3/08 package arrives at Nebraska

4/11/08 check cashed

4/14/08 recieved NOA extension letter

4/26/08 recieved biometrics appointment letter plus it looks like our case has been forwarded to California!

5/02/08 Biometrics scheduled

5/02/08 Biometrics completed in 10 mins!

Woo Hoo....8/28/08 Recieved 10yr Greencard in mail, no approved email!! We are done!!!

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Four Months and twenty seven days is pretty darn good compared to over a year ago, add about another ten months to that and learn what stress you go through. But still not done if you are intending to stay here. Still have to deal with a foreign country and beg, borrow, bride, or steal to attempt to keep you passport current, and really can't go anywhere, legally, unless you are carrying that card, plus you only have ten days to tell the USCIS where you live, and have to very closely watch your time out of the country. And you have to pay the full burden of FICA taxes and do not receive full benefits, and have to pay the full burden on income taxes with no say on how our government is made, you quickly realize the only benefit of that ten year card is that you or your spouse can remain here legally. Plus if you lose it, another four hundred bucks out of your pocket.

That ten year card for us was relief, but certainly not done, just another step. When you read the N-400 instructions with lot's of confusion, more fees, more trips, you feel you are back a square one again after compiling all that same old evidence again. But when that is over, you can say you are done. Hopefully it will end this coming Wednesday for us when my wife attends the oath ceremony. Another day off from work plus a long trip, just to say I do, they don't make it easy, and that carries through to the very last second. Then you are done.

But I do share with your relief.

thanks everyone, and NickD, for me right now i feel done, i'll allow myself that...and i know we got lucky in how fast we got my card....so congrats will be just fine thanks :thumbs:
