Greetings All,

It's been a while since I last posted. I just wanted to say thanks for all your advice. I will meet my fiance probably in Manila or Cebu. It seems most agree GenSan is not safe...and especially since my fiance also tells me so.

Well I am at the very beginning stages of our marriage process. :( I cannot file our K-1 until I get my final divorce decree(any day now) and when I visit her in the PI. I am glad that I found this forum as it will be a big help in understanding the process and I just want to make sure I have everything organized.

Hi, Chris!

I'm glad to hear that you and your fiancee will probably meet in Manila or Cebu. I agree with GaryC's advice. Keep everything! Also, you can ask the hotel receptionist to put your both names when printed your hotel receipts. That is one of the good proof you've been together. You can write little diary's too. This will help you when you make things ready to send your K-1 application package.

I pray for a speedy process of your final divorce decree.

Have a safe stay in the Philippines and best wishes to both of you! :star:

congrats on your divorce and upcoming trip hope things are safe my fiance is from gensan also when i went to see her i actually went to gensan and though it might have been dangerous i am exstremely glad i did it gave me a chance to meet her family and also see where and how she lives i went during one of thier festivals and a bomb was set off there one night but we never stayed out after dark so we were safe but i do understand the fear and one reason the slow process drives me nuts at times i want her here where i can try to protect her if you are going to do any traveling while in the philippines i would suggest a day trip to gensan to meet her family and maybe stay at one of the resorts there isla parrila was very nice and very reasonable and close to the city. i wish you all the luck and a speady process and if your gal would like to meet others in gensan for support just have her drop my baby a line she is trying to gather the girls in the area for a group

good luck and god speed
