Hey all, there is a person on this site that communicates with my wife and has asked several times is your husband rich, how rich is your husband, I think your husband is rich, etc...well I am here to say. I am sure we married for love and not for money, to me it sounds like a fishing contest and who got the biggest fish !! now to be realistic I do know that Romance without Finance, makes No Sense. But if things were reversed. and it were the men who kept the subject of our wives money always in the conversation. what would that make us look like? our marriage is about Love, and I would like to keep it that way. your opinions welcome...

no, I thought about it, but to avoid conflict I did it this way, besides I was curious of OP thoughts

Because posting a conflict you have with one member posted on a public forum, in Off-Topic no less, will 'avoid' conflict, how?

This person is only asking your wife if you are rich? Or has this person said outright that because they suspect you have good financial standing then your marriage must be based on money? If your wife is only being peppered by "Is your husband rich?" type questions, and you do not want to engage in this type of discourse...you could ask your wife to stop answering said questions. If the person doesn't desist in asking them, she(your) wife could stop comunicating with the person.

It is, as you say a conflict between you and one person. My thought is you should handle it as such.

While my husband makes a good income, he never disclosed it until after we had become engaged. He had been 'burned' before by women who became interested in him only after they learned his salary. I never asked either, figuring that I had enough on my own if we needed to cope and I did know that he was employed and in the IT field. I figured he made around the same amount as I did (I was wrong). I am glad that he does, but it definitely wasn't a factor in my decision to marry him - I was and am perfectly capable of supporting myself and have no problems with it.

No, never marry for money. I dated a rich guy who was the probably the worst, selfish, self absorbed, arrogant bastardo...who cheated on me and treated me like his Personal Assistant and cook and washwoman.

Now, my husby is worth mucho dinero. HOWEVER its all in real estate so right now we are counting pennies, but I love him for him and not his worth. And when I do get my EAD, I will be brining home a few slabs of bacon.
