Gas Prices Dropping Like A Rock - $3.50 by Labor Day?

Tell this to the rest of USA that is paying $4.50 plus a gallon now! It will go up before it drops.

Finally, there's some good news about gas prices. They've dropped nationwide by about a nickel, and as CBS 2's Susan Carlson reports, analysts are predicting even bigger drops through the rest of the summer.

...

"We saw a substantial drop in the price of crude oil, which it appears gas station owners were in a hurry to pass on to consumers," said Phill Flynn, Vice President an Senior Market Analyst at Alaron Trading.

AAA reports gas prices in the Chicago area are averaging $4.25 a gallon Wednesday. That's down from $4.27 Tuesday, and $4.33 last Friday.

...

Analysts say right now, gas prices are on track to keep plummeting through the end of the summer.

"We could see $3.70 in the city and if we get really lucky, maybe $3.50 by Labor Day," Flynn said.

$3.59 here in Springfield... although the diesel remained $4.59. We'll wait until this weekend if the gas goes lower... We have like 10 five gallon containers to fill up.

I'm sure you know to be careful!

Thrifty Couple Burns Down Apartment Complex

Posted: 6/6/2008

Authorities say a couple trying to beat the high cost of gasoline accidentally caused a fire that burned their apartment complex.

Fire Chief Richard Arruda says the couple had about 45 gallons of gasoline in nine plastic jugs stacked in a closet that also housed an air conditioning unit.

The gasoline fumes apparently set off Thursday's fire, which was quickly put out by a sprinkler system.

No one was seriously hurt, but residents of eight units of the complex were displaced.

Investigators believe the couple was storing the gas because of rising prices. Officials say they might face civil penalties for violating the fire code.

I saw it going for 3.78 $ up the street yesterday.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
