I'm planning to file within a week. Just waiting to receive an english version of my birth certificate. I've been preparing for this for a very long time, and I'm hoping it'll get processed fast. It looks like it takes about 3-4 months at my local office (Norfolk), so we're keeping our fingers crossed. :)

I did it! My lawyer filed for AOS just other day. I am just being wishful but I hope I get my EAD before January because I'll need it for my job, and hopefully get my tuition rate reduce to instate, not insane level (unlikely though b/c of the regulation, but I'll talk to my advisor on monday or tuesday).

Count me in!

You should use the most recent version. It says on the UCSIS website:

I-765 $340 05/27/08. No previous editions accepted.

It usually specifically when you can use a previous version. I had filled out all my forms this spring, and now that I am ready to actually file, I double checked and made sure all my forms were valid. They had updated some of them, and all accepted previous versions. But I still downloaded the new ones and filled them all out, just in case. I hope that answers your question.

Hi everybody and all september fillers!

I got married last sunday and sent the AOS/AP/EAD on friday... So here we go!! I hope I filled everything ok and that I provided all the required documents

I just want to share a pretty bad experience: The I-693 vaccination part signed by a doctor. I had all the required med exam and vaccinations, and TB and everything, so the doctor just filled out the vaccination record of I-693 and signed the form. It took maybe 15min in total. And they charged me.... $313!!! Can you believe that?? God I was sooo angry, soo so angry

So an advice to people who haven't been through all that yet and don't need to retake any med exam: Don't bother seeing a doctor, just send your form to doctor Arnold in TX as a lot of people did and you will save a lot of money!! I mean, I was kind of worried about doing that, and that is why I didn't do it... And now I can only cry because they charged me so much...

Oh well, it is life, right?? And hopefully soon, I will remember all that like a bad dream... Because it will be worth it!!!

Ok, I've got to take a nap, I am sick :crying:

Byebye,

Keep in touch september fillers!!

I agree, it's frustrating to go through all the stress and worries to finally arrive at such an expensive anticlimax...

I've had bad experiences pretty much every time I filed for a work visa or reentered the US. So now that I'm filing for the GC, I'm extremely nervous and worried that something will again go wrong.

Good luck to you, and take care!

I haven't heard of an I-185 - do you mean the affidavit of support? If yes, then you do NOT need to have it notarized
