Ok so I'm ecstatic that I got the card in the mail today....unfortunately the card is in my maiden name and we had submitted the forms with my married name on the G 325a document.

I called in and finally got a live person...they basically read from a piece of paper that I needed to fill out an I90 form and send in my Resident Card to my National Benefits Centre. They will then investigate whether or not it was the USCIS's fault on the error. If it is in their error, they will reissue a new card with the change other wise they will reject your submission and send it back to you. You will then need to resubmit with a cheque for $75 for the correction.

Sigh...at this point I don't even know if it's worth it to resend it back in......

My SSN and bank are in my maiden name............

I'm already so tired of all this paperwork with name changing and I'm just in the beginning of the AOS...Honestly, if it happened to me I would just keep the card especially if you already have SSN etc. in your maiden name...

oops I meant my bank and SSN are in my married name along with my benefits card.....

I wonder if I can hold off on the name change until I get my conditions removed and then at that point submit the forms in my married name?

Ok, so you put you married name onf the 325A, what about the I-485. That would be the important one. If your maiden name was on it, then your GC would have your maiden name on it. If it was your married name on the 485, then it was there error and you should submit the paperwork to get it done.

05/12/2007 - NOA1 received by snail mail after a loooong wait

05/14/2007 - Sent I-129F for K3 to Chicago Lockbox via USPS Express Mail

10/22/2007 - I129F APPROVED (161 days), I130 APPROVED (188 days)

11/08/2007 - I129F received at NVC, embassy case number generated.

11/13/2007 - I129F forwarded to embassy.

11/18/2007 - 129F petition received at embassy

01/09/2008 - finally, DOS gives me the interview date, April 16, 2007 (ouch)

thanks....sniff sniff...I realized I made a mistake :ranting: and only filled out the G 325 with my married name....I thought that was good enough as I was worried they wouldn't know who the application belonged to if I filled out all the forms in my married name....

So does anyone know if I can keep the Resident's card in my maiden name and then when I lift the conditions, change it to my married name? Hoping that will be ok....

What name is in your passport? It it's your maiden name, all your international travel will be in that name until the passport is changed. If you change your passport name, you'll want the green card to match.

My passport is in my maiden name....

Only stuff in my married name is my SSN, health insurance and bank.
