If Kerry was elected, you'd have more pandering to illegals, not less.

To paraphrase something peejay posted on this topic a few weeks/months ago.. Democrats pander to illegal aliens, Republicans pander to the businesses that thrive on them. Either way, to you and me, it makes little difference. They all the same on this issue.

Very good point. I missed that before. Did you know that most illegals are Libertarian?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I believe so too. Everyone saying what if this what if that....bla bla. Should have voted Kerry......if you ask me there wasnt much of a choice for the election either way...I dont think Kerry would have stopped jobs from going out of the country, dont think Kerry would have GAVE people jobs here......I really dont think it would have been too much of a difference.

Alright...one more time...I'm going to try and make my point. From the news recently it looks like amnesty is inevitable at this point. No, I don't agree with it, but that is beside the point. Right now, the best thing, the only thing we can do, is make certain that whatever law they make doesn't unfairly penalize those of us waiting to legally bring our family here. That means that we have to quit insulting one another for our differing views on this subject and unite...just as they did. We have to make sure that whether we are in New York City, Los Angeles or Poo Dunk, Arkansas...we get our stories out. Call radio stations, write op eds and talk to people at TV stations about being 'expert' guests on their shows. We also have to start writing our Senators speifically, but also our representatives in the House...because eventually it will get back to them. We just want to make the point that there be funding for the USCIS to administer this program so our wait times don't double...triple...quadrulupe...or worse. And we want the standards uniform...for instance either they have to meet the 125% poverty standard...or we shouldn't have to either. If we don't unify soon...well you think this IMBRA thing has been bad the last few days...just you wait.

125% of poverty level is ridiculously low in many parts of the US. In places like New Jersey/NYC it should be closer to 300%.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

That is beside the point....the point is uniformity of standards for everyone.

And if we continue to get off track like that...then guess what...we are going to left behind in whatever law does get passed. Right now we just need to deal with realities and unify to get the best deal we can out of this situation...instead of getting screwed by it.

And now that most of the migration is from south of the border, Asia, South America... almost coincidentally there is now this huge government bureacracy we must al navigate. Why did this change? I'm not suggesting race is a factor but it does make me wonder.

Because this republic in a pretense of Democracy is still deathly afraid of Socialism, and take the majority out of the hands of the elite few and place it more evenly (not totally.... come on now).

What I find hilarious... is that years from now... the ppl that will be given (and they will be GIVEN citizenship, not earned) will be crying that their wages are being depressed by all the new illegals that will come across the border(s) and they can't compete... and they will want stricter immigration reform. Just like the ones that got it 10 yrs ago are. Yeah.. vicious cycles.

I think the Bush administration needs to seek out the MAJOR problems illegal immigrants are doing NOT including crossing the border illegally, working illegally, demanding everything that they are not entitled to.

Lets focus on the fact tonight on CNN they announced illegal immigrants are using CHILDRENS social security numbers to gain work in the US. I couldnt believe it ( i mean ok i could cmon they do everything illegally), they are using new born baby's SS numbers.

A 5 year old girl in Utah was an example. Her mom filed for something on her 5 yr old daughter, and it came up that her 5 yr old daughter was driving 80 miles a day to work in a resturant as a busboy. When they found out who the person was using this SS number, it was a mexican who came here 5 years ago, stole her SS number and used it as his own.

If these ppl get amnesty, thats messed up. I really dont want to live in a country where I cant even trust my own government to make the right choises for its LEGAL people. I was born and raised here, i love my country, but my government makes me feel ashamed.

Lets not forget, SSI says they are not ALLOWED or required to inform ANY US citizen if they are a victum of stolen SS numbers. So my sons or my daughters SS number could be being used by some mexican who ran across the border, and wed never know it until one of them applied for a job. Thats what SSI stated.

Also did you hear theres a bill trying to be passed where Gay History will be taught as a required class in schools?????? Yes. texbook included.

my daughter will be homeschooled before she attends a class like that. Learning the Gay life or history of it should not be required in SCHOOL. Yet they take away Bibles and praying and the pledge of allegence????

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Its an intensely frustrating experience listening to that man mangle his vowels and pronunciation.

Can't blame him for that. Happens to me every time I try to talk about him.

Buck Fush! See, even when I type...

This man, for instance makes more sense ;)

This whole thing really sucks--This stupid issue has now broken the camel's last straw! F'ing speech will be in English for unlawful immigrants that don't speak English. But the worst part is this speech is on Monday and it will preempt Prison Break and 24.

I so want to count chads right! Please give me a time machine set to 2000 and let me live in Palm Beach, FLA!

In accordance with Georgia law, "The Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act," I am required to display the following in any and all languages that I may give immigration related advise:

'I AM NOT AN ATTORNEY LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW AND MAY NOT GIVE LEGAL ADVICE OR ACCEPT FEES FOR LEGAL ADVICE.'

"NO SOY ABOGADO LICENCIADO PRACTICAR LEY Y NO PUEDO DOY ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO O ACEPTO LOS HONORARIOS PARA El ASESORAMIENTO JURÍDICO."

You mean the President doesn't have a selection of foreign language audio tracks? Most disappointing, even 24 has that. Better off watching the president on there, he'll probably say much the same things anyway.
