The previous posters suggestion that this wouldn't have happened if the NRA had been allowed to give everyone weapons and proper training.

However, it stands to reason that something was faulty because the woman was not carrying the weapon in any way that could be reasonably deemed safe. Either she had the training and chose not to adhere to it or she didn't get enough training. Either way, this is supposed to be one of the 'responsible gun owners' we hear so much about.

Here's the statistic I'd LOVE to see from the pro-gun poeple.

Take the number of gun homocides, accidental shootings of children etc...and then compare it to the number of people who's lives were miraculously saved because they had a gun in their purse, home etc.

Show me the the people who would have been killed by masked intruders if not for their guns....and tell me there are MORE of these stories than children blowing their brains out.

The 'it's just another tool' argument is just ##### footing around.

I prefer my gun owners to come out and say that they own guns because "they are efficient and designed to kill and they need them to protect themselves from the bad guys." At least that's honest and not hiding behind the, 'It's just like any of my other tools that could possibly kill if someone has a mind to use it that way" blah blah blah. Talk about lily livered.

Those aren't the only reasons people own them. People own them to hunt or for pleasure shooting. Shooting is a lot of fun and hunting tastes good. I have no interest in owning a gun for protection, but I would consider it for pleasure shooting or hunting geese.

my question is what person women man old or young leaves a purse or anything with a gun in it near a childs hands???????

i hunt our family hunts the point is if ur not intelligent enough to know how to take care and not put a child in a position to gain access to any type of weapon u have no business owning one ........it is people like this that make people against guns of any kind in the publics hands make a valid point ........... gives those of us that are responsible less ground for argument i dont know how many people here own a gun.........its not my business but i sure dont like to see acts of stupidity of the few when an argument.........there is not excuse for what happened to that baby........
