Hey y'all. Just kinda of typing, maybe someone can relate. I'm just feeling a little down right now. I guess this whole process thing is just getting to me. I applied for AOS & EAD last august and I just finally got my EAD not long ago but i'm still waiting on my ssn # to come thru (i'm not updated in the system yet so no issuance till that happens). I'm just really struggeling some days with the fact that there ain't a whole lot I can do. I will have been here a year on the 25th and all i can say i've really done this year is get married which is a wonderful thing. I guess i am just really missing home right now and we just can't afford to apply for ead yet alone fly me home. Plus this whole ead thing is getting to me and by the time i'm able to work it's only good for a few months, it expires at the end of october. Then i have to do it all over again. My hubby works with some immigrants and they tell him not even to wait on EAD for me because they said it wasn't worth it, they tried first hand and it always took so long and when they did get it wasn't even worth it. They state we just throwing money away and probably just wait on Greencard. I'm just wanting something to do. I want to feel like i'm contributing. I do all my household duties but there is only so much cleaning and laundry one can do in a day. I've read more books than i can count, i take my puppy on lots of walks. I can't drive yet because lack of ssn# so there's not a whole lot for me to do right now. Sorry people, just venting. Tired of being jailed up , or at least feeling jailed up.

Really sorry to hear that. I can just imagine what it would be like being couped up all day. I worry about that when my sweetie gets here too, so I have been trying to find things she likes to do and arrange for her to be able to do them. Hope you get you GC soon and can get out of the house! What is the deal with the SSN though?!!

Cangal, I am sure there are clubs/classes you can take to get you out of this rut. Believe me I know how you feel, it's been 2.5 years since I have been home to see my family. You have to get up and get out!!! =)

If there's a community college/center nearby take a yoga class that meets twice a week, you'll love it bc it'll help with the stress and you'll meet people. If you like to sew, find a local Joann's and sign up for the sewing club, I think they meet twice a week as well.

Do you like to act? Ever tried it? Go try out for a community play, i can't stress how fun and rewarding when you see your husband in the crowd.

Cheer up, it will get better.

i started plantnig peppers and tomatoes. they coming up well. I would love to volunteer somewhere but i can't drive and there ain't anything close by to walk too. I'm in TN cities are different here , from what i'm used too, not much of sidewalks exist here and everything is so spread out, plus im like in a far out subburb. My hubby gets me out when he's not at work but then he leaves everday at about 2:30 for work and he's work like 6-7 days a week. The few people i have met all live like and hour away out where his mom and stepdad are. I am currently looking nito joining a small group with our church and they gonna see if someone can come pick me up, it's held at the other end of the city. Just hard, me not used to this. I used to be so social, and was always on the go, in school full time and working two jobs an dnow nothing. At first the time was awesome, but now i have too much time, lol.

SSN deal is that they say i haven't been updated in the system since my biometrics and they can't issue my ssn# until that happens. They photocopied everything i had with me and mailed it off and they said once it's updated that i should recieve something within a few weeks. It's been about a month now and still nothing. We gonna go back next week and see what the deal is but they keep saying all i can do is wait.

I am not sure why they can not issue your SSN. Danette got hers even before we married. But hang in there. I am sure it will be coming soon.

Cangal, my husband and I share a car. We line in Phoenix, and it's pretty spread out here too. Would your hubby be okay with you driving him to work and picking him up? That way you can have the car to do your own stuff! I know when I pick my hubby up he's very grateful because after a long day the last thing he wants to do is drive=).

That's a great idea -- we do that ourselves. Mondays are my "car day"s -- I get the chance to get some stuff done and go run errands if I need to, and Jerry gets the "chauffeur" treatment! :P It's helped to make me feel like I am not so stuck to the house. (Tulsa is REALLY spread out too)
