Hi. :)

My name is Nikki. I live in California and my wonderful fiancè TamTu resides in The Netherlands. This past March was the anniversary of our forth year together and we finally decided that we're going to apply for his K-1 Visa. Though we're still a few months away from filing, I'm absolutely excited to have found such a fantastic and resourceful site. Based on all of the information I've found here, I've already started to prepare everything that I think I might need.. even if the time to file is not yet upon us.

I'd also like to say that a lot of the stories here fill me with so much hope for the future. The love that so many of you seem to share with your loved ones, however far away they may be, almost brings a tear to my eye. It's really beautiful to see so many distance relationships work [when it has often felt to me that... no one else understood what it was like to be in such a relationship] - Stay strong, everyone. <3

..Yeah, that was really cheesy. I'm sorry. :P Very nice to meet you all.

The only doom that's looming is you loving me to death,

So I'll give you a sec to catch your breath.

Hi, welcome to this site! I am a pretty new member here myself, but already I feel like I am home. The people here are very helpful, they really tell you what you need to know, and they share in your joy and problems as well. Good luck on your k1 journey! Hope the k1 process goes smoothly and quickly for you, so you can be with your fiance soon. =) I know how frustrating it is to be far away from the one you love, you want so much to be together already, but the distance keeps you apart. But hold on, there is hope, as you can see and read in the stories posted here. =) Good luck again!

Welcome Aboard!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Thank you, everyone, for your warm responses! It really does feel like an extended family, or something similar, with all of these people sharing a similar situation, and similar thoughts and feelings. It's quite reassuring. To those who are still on their long road, keep holding on. May your respective journies be swift, as well. <3

Where are you located in California?
I'm about 26 miles North of San Francisco. :)
