You know why the right thinks the left thinks Obama as a messiah? It's because the right expected him to be great immediately upon sworn into office. They expected him to miraculously bring change instantly. I believe that is a reason why the right wingnuts accused the leftist for thinking obama is a messiah.

Nope, not even close. Most people on the Right were baffled by the appeal of an inexperienced candidate with no visible achievements but with a wide-eyed crowd that swooned at his every utterance. When asked why they thought he'd make a good president, they'd stare and say "hope and change". Aside from posting to Obama's website, most Obama heads had a hard time naming his positions on anything beyond pulling U.S. troops out of Iraq until after he'd already gotten the Dem nomination.

On domestic policy, he's been worse than even his most vocal critics could imagine but has been fairly level-headed on foreign policy by dumping most of more extreme statements and positions.

No, they call him the 'messiah' because they find it difficult to accept any other ideology than their own - even when the representatives are duly elected. Therefore their response is to ridicule and attempt to demonise in order to scare the independents back into the fold. The process of demonisation also serves to provide a rally call around which the 'us' gang can congregate with all that nice 'feel good' emotion. It is a bit nuts.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Being elected made the US more 'popular'. Can't be bad. ;)

Maybe so, but what's best for the world isn't always best for the United States. They can go hand-in-hand, but it's best to remember that he was elected the President of the United States and not the President of the World.

That only applies to the military. Citizens don't have to take loyalty oaths and are free to voice their opinions. Winning an election doesn't mean unswerving servility to elected officials.

That theory excludes the number of Blue Dog Democrats that don't back Obama's every whim. More independents aren't necessarily buying into the GOP lines but they know Obama is killing the economy by government fiat.

Now, what the hell is experience? Nobody elected into the President office has ever had any experience. That is just silliness, unless the Prez was elected the second term. Then, we can say he is experienced. Somehow, the logic of being experienced as President without being President first seem to travel to the depths of the universe and nobody (right wingnuts) could comprehend.

Try to look into the background of ANY modern U.S. president. Most of the presidents had some significant executive experience.

Bush- Governor of Texas

Clinton- Governor of Arkansas

Bush Sr.- Vice President

Reagan- Gov. of California

Carter- Gov. of Georgia . . .

Obama is the most unqualified and inexperienced elected President since somebody in 19th century if that.

Yeah the experience thing is a bit of a red herring.

He did fool all the Koolaid drinkers but that wasn't too much of an accomplishment really.

You think?

When the choice was between the outsider and a guy from the incumbent party who didn't offer anything new - the outcome seemed fairly clear.

Gov != Prez last time I checked.

It's sort of like the farm team system.

what a maroon. this guy has been part of the corrupted democratic machine (chicago mafia) all of his adult life. not an outsider, by any means. he hasn't done anything outside the system in his entire life.

He did accomplish...The C.A.R.S Act was passed.

The bailout was passed (for the good, and for the bad, you can't neglect the other)...Increasing the limit of mpg set by the federal government.

so some of nancy pelosi's friends can sell back that useless toxic waste dump land they bought on the san fran bay to tax payers at a thousand dollars on the dime rate (salt marsh mouse money).
