It could be the change in diet or just stress.

None of that makes your hair fall out. Hair loss is genetic -- your diet, shampoo and stress levels make little to no difference.

you're talking about balding, which is not the case, she says. Every now and then I notice I'm losing a lot of hair, I'm certain it has to do with stress. It's temporary, though. If he keeps losing, which obviously will lead him to bald, then yeah, I'd agree with you.

Inflamation of the scalp? His scalp may appear a bit red and be a little itchy. Or have him check his thyroid. The best thing to do is see a dermotologist. If everything checks out accordingly, then make an appointment with an endocrineologist .

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

My husband has started to "shed" hair ever since he came to the U.S. a year ago. He has very thick hair and never had a problem of losing it - until he came here.

He's only 25 and is not balding, but we notice more hair around the sink and he said that he notices it a lot.

Now he's always been pretty healthy and this seems strange. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas what could cause it?

I had this problem a few years back and for me the cause was anemia (low iron).

diet can have an affect on hair and make it fall out. If one is mal-nourished your hair can fall out.

Thyroid problems will make your hair fall out. I had hyper-thyroid caused by Graves disease (going in a couple months to test to see if its in remission!) and my hair was falling out by several handfuls a day. Hyper-thyroid gone un-treated can eventually cause death. It doesn't just affect the hair, but muscles and brain and and and...

My hair started to fall out last year, I'm only 21 and was super devastated. It wasn't coming out in whole chunks or anything just excessively when I was showering and brushing my hair. I went to see my hairdresser and she told me that some people are just super sensitive to the chemicals in mainstream hair product brands. She said that changes in your live can cause you to become sensitive over night and I guess thats just what happened. I sought out a more expensive, natural brand and it stopped almost over night. I couldn't believe some of the things she told me about the more popular shampoo/conditioner brands. Maybe your husband is having a reaction to the change in products since he moved, I'm really conscious of taking my products with me when I go to see Alan. Will have to do a little research by the time I move over there to find some suitable US brands.

I hope you figure out the problem soon.

I think that it could be stress related - that would make sense.

One word- Nioxin.

It does work, I can tell you first hand for your husband's situation it sounds perfect. Try Rogaine or a generic counterpart.

He's so young though...he said that he doesn't feel that his hair is thinning - there is just strands of hair that fall out while he comes, etc.

I wondered if anyone started to lose strands of hair after moving to the U.S.

My "first hand" experience was not me, it was my wife who was only 28. This only happened just after moving to the U.S, and it only happened during the first year. Probably stress related.

Yes, when i came back to the US from living abroad, i lost a significant amount of my hair... and i'm born and raised here! and from a family of warm-blooded hairy people!

It has been devastating to say the least. It is getting better though, thank God.

Go see a dermatologist... it's better than speculating. He/she can tell you if it's stress-related, dietary, hormonal, or just natural hair loss.

Feel better... i know hair loss can be terrible. :(

Balding is genetic. Losing hair could also be a sign of stress or change in diet. When I'm feeling really stressed out due to work or a family problem, i tend to lose more hair than usual. If his hair loss persists thought he should go to his doctor just to be on the safe side..

Stop drinking Nair.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Is his grandfather on his mother's side bald? If so, there's a decent chance he will be, too. If his mother's father is not bald though, there's a good chance it's just a temporary thing.

If he starts going bald, there's not much he can do to stop it. He can slow it down though. If he's a confident guy, it shouldn't be a problem for either of you.
