Hillary Clinton: "I believe I will win" and "It's the map, not the math"

From blogger Jerome Armstrong on mydd.com:

I listened in on a CC with Hillary Clinton, and took a few notes. She's going to continue her campaign, undoubtedly, because she thinks she can win, or as she said: "I believe I will win; I believe my opponent could win."

...

Here was her message, and my extrapolation, in the call:

1) She's leading in the popular vote. Period. This isn't a procedural argument, but a moral one. Yes, they voted in FL and MI, that was their only chance at voted. It may not be what is used for distributing delegates, but no one can deny that there was a vote taken, those people count...

2) Count the delegates of MI & FL. This is a procedural argument. Whatever the committee decides, they decide. They better damn well not punt. I think it does signal a turn in the race, on June 1st, after they've been allocated in whatever fashion they determine. We will then have a clear marker on which both candidates agree, and the contest is decided.

3) Clinton makes the argument that she's won the states with the EV's that matter. The heart of this comes back to her claim that 'she will win, and Obama could win'. As she said: "Its the map not the math".

That was the gist of the argument, which I'm sure she's telling the SD's too.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

This is not even worth debating.

She's lost and she knows it.

Hillary ... color your world ....

Crayola.jpg

I couldn't help but notice the crayons are erasable...

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

She doesn't sound like she knows it.

There are still many undeclared SD's. There is still a May 31 rules committee meeting. It is still possible, if not likely.

Her "map" argument essentially goes like this: I won the big states in the primary and hence, the electoral map looks better for me in November. What her nonsensical argument doesn't discuss is that she lost a number of states by significant margins that she'd need on her map in November. Let us remember that Obama carried IL, WI and MN by significant margins. He carried MD, CT and DE as well as ME, VT and WA by significant margins. I suppose as soon as Hillary manages to square the circle on how she intends to win in November w/o carrying those states, the super delegates may just lend her half an ear to hear what she has to say about that map. Until then, it's garbage. And if she doesn't know it yet, then it'll be made clear to her very, very soon.

It won't be long before we witness this:

In all actuality, I think this nonsense is just evidence that she's still trying to raise enough money to pay herself back that loan.

The convention will be fun. Protests outside and riots inside. The dems sure know how to throw a party!

Do you somehow think the repulicans would be any better at handling this is they were in the same situation? For me, I highly doubt it.

The point is, we're not.

Well, that's not really the point. It just seems like outright partisanship.

Oh yeah. I will admit it, I am very partisan. I want to see the dems lose from both a political philosophy standpoint and an partisan standpoint. I see their self destruction as a form of entertainment.

There'll be no such thing in August and that will become clear very, very soon. Remember, Hillary needs to raise herself out of debt somehow. Yo don't get that done by conceding. She's got until June 3 to raise funds. The hammer falls soon thereafter. All that said, you better watch Ron Paul at the Republican's convention. I read that he's got some surprises in his back pocket. ;)
