terrible and just wrong/./////

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

What a fukcing idiot, the dad. Hope he gets canned.

Canned = Fired/Terminated/Let Go/Made Redundant

So, what should he get fired from?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I am heartbroken for the dad as I can imagine my son who just turned 9. :crying:

However, this is another example of why I don't go hunting. I love the taste of wild game but the number of careless hunters out there who do not verify their target before firing is not worth the risk.

That excuse has already been used before... Plus, ####### Cheney ruined the whole shoting someone while hunting mistake alibi for everyone...

At least from being "the safest hunter"... and I used the term canned, albeit incorrectly, as in meaning: I hope they send him to the Big House.

I'm not a hunter or a gun owner....but don't you look before just firing blindly at a sound?

Regardless, I've no doubt it was an accident whether caused by stupidity or not, but it's tragice nonetheless.

that in bold is correct.

"always be certain of your target and the backstop."

it's tragic, yes, but it's no accident. an accident is the gun firing unintentionally. it fired when he wanted. in summary, it's stupidity on part of the father.

I totally agree with you, Charles.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

This is why -- beyond the fact I don't find killing animals entertaining -- I don't care for hunting. Too many accidents between hunters themselves. If I feel the need to hunt, I'll load up a video game. Sure, it's not the same thing, but at least I can come and go as I please and I don't have to worry about getting shot.

Sorry to hear about this and I can relate because we had a similar incident happen in our family. My brother-in-laws sisters husband was out target practicing with his son and a friend. They took a break from shooting and when they decided to go back to shooting his son was not around. He sighted his gun at the target anyway and just as he pulled the trigger his son popped up in the line of sight! He had shot his son in the chest and he died instantly. You never shoot while target practicing unless all member of your party are accounted for!! I'm a long time hunter and there is no excuse for these kind of accidents......You never shoot at anything your don't have full sight of or at the very least you have been watching your prey and know exactly what your shooting at and what's behind it. Its sad but mistakes happen in the excitement of it all and how terrible it must feel to be the person to make a mistake.....especially if its one of your own family members. I know he didn't mean to do it so I can feel for him and hope the family can heal from this tragedy.

Tony, the dad, treated his 8-year old kid like an adult already? Geezes. A long time ago, only when children turn into man where they are allowed to hunt. I am guessing cavemen are smarter than Tony.

Don't hunters have to wear those orange vests?

What a tragedy all around.

not necessarily. migratory birds, for example, can see colors whereas deer can't. wear one dove or goose hunting and you probably won't have much luck. so depending on what one is hunting, orange vests may be a good idea safety wise but a bad idea as the critter being sought can see you.

not sure if turkey can see colors on not though.

interesting, i went hunting with my dad at 8 years old and i'm still here. so don't generalize, k?

and yes, dad was quite a safe hunter too.

My Dad nearly killed his own father when he was about that age. They were target shooting.
