My fiance just called USCIS.

We've been wondering since our approved case has not reached NVC. Been 4 weeks. Yet we were more surprised with the anwer of the representative. I wonder if they knew what they were talking about. They said it's directly forwarded to the US embassy in Jakarta.

Anyone who got case directly forwarded to US embassy??

Pls let us know since we're wondering what's goin on!

Frustrating wait..

A lot of people have been told this but it is not true.

Your petition goes to NVC, where a new case number is assigned, and then it is forwarded to the appropriate consulate.

CSC does take some time to transfer petitions though.

Maybe they already sent the packet to your embassy. Only wait a little more and if it's true you'll receive a letter from NVC saying that they already sent the packet to your embassy. Good luck

Probably in a crate waiting for other petitions to fill the crate before being shipped off. They do not work as quick as VSC where they ship petitions out once every two days approx. with CSC it could take up to a couple of weeks. I'm not sure what the reason is but I read what I've just quoted from an experienced VJer in another forum somewhere.

I agree with Zee. I remember reading other threads on the same subject before.

It is not true, all petitions need to go through the NVC before going to the Local Consulate.

It is just so wrong that they give this information when they are well aware is not true. :bonk: They probably think that by saying this, you'll stop calling.

OP, hang in there, you'll hear from the NVC soon :)

Mine was not directly forwarded but by the time I had an NVC case number which I tried calling to get it had already been shipped to Kazakhstan across the world. It arrived at the embassy only 7 days after NOA2. The NVC sent me a letter 4 weeks later stating the same. It went through the NVC in only 3 days from NOA2. Sometimes I don't know why some cases seem to fly through the NVC and others don't. Its not fair to anyone and especially those who have been waiting so long. Call the embassy and get them looking for it. They are usually very nice to deal with. Good luck!! Keep us posted. :)
