I couldn't pick two, so I chose Buddhism, though I also practice some aspects of Hinduism. Hubby is Hindu. A lot of Nepalis practice a mixture of both and there are some temples(like Vajravarahi, where we were married) which are attended by both Hindus and Buddhists. I wanted to get married there for that reason. We haven't had any conflicts since the big stuff(vegetarianism, alcohol, reincarnation, etc.) we agree on(yes for 1 and 3, no to 2). We haven't gotten into the whole self vs. no-self bit yet. :P Ganesh is my homeboy and Tara is my homegirl... :thumbs:

UU = Pagan-friendly church (everything-friendly, actually)

I like UU

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Raised in a fundi Baptist family. Personally I believe in God and Christ but the specific religion doesn't matter. It's all a matter of details anyway. Luz is Catholic and I attend church with her. The important thing is how you live your life, not what God you pray to.

Well, not *everything* (sorry, it's a misconception about UU that annoys the $--- out of me). UUism is open to anyone who believes that individuals have the right and responsibility to come to their own conclusions about the nature of God, the Universe, and Everything. (Thank you, Douglas Adams.) In other words, anyone who believes that one group or ideology has the exclusive rights to the Truth and to Heaven (that is, basically anyone who's theologically conservative) couldn't be a member.

But yeah, we're Pagan-friendly because Pagans are non-Pagan-friendly. Also friendly to theologically liberal Jews, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, secular humanists, mystics... personally, though, I consider myself none of the above. I'm UU and that's it. I believe in the teachings of UUism but not of any other religious tradition.
