You're done with USCIS for now. Once they issue the noa2 they send your file to NVC. You can call them in a week or so to check on it. sometimes it just flies through there! Then once it's sent to the embassy you can check with DOS. They have info on when the embassy receives your file and apparently when your interview is scheduled. Mine isn't yet, but last time I called they just started rattling off the status..."your file was received by Montreal on xxxx and they sent you packet 3 on xxx and there's no interview scheduled yet" I was like, Wow, but my question is xxx lolol.

NVC: 1-603-334-0700...choose 1 then 5

DOS: 1-202-663-1225...choose 1 then 0 (have your new number ready...it starts with your embassy initials, ours are MTL for Montreal...NVC can give you this new number once they receive your petition)

Congrats!! Everything goes so fast now!!

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

You have to wait a week or so and call NVC.

NVC tends to take 2-4 weeks to process K-Visa petitions then send them on to the consulate.

About GUZ: (Guangzhou)

After NVC sends out the petition, it takes a few days to transit to China, at that point it will take a month or so to clear customs, and then sit in a warehouse until the consulate is ready to "receive" the case file. (3-4 MONTHS) NVC -- GUZ so dont even bother asking about case status for at least 3 months after it leave NVC, the consulate and DOS will tell you that they have not received the case file.

After GUZ receives the case, they send out Packet 3, and after they receive back Packet 3 (OF-169, and DS-230 Part 1) it takes about a month or so for GUZ to schedule an interview and send out Packet 4, interview tends to be set 3-4 weeks after packet 4 is mailed out.

While waiting all that time, you may want to join and use "A Candle for Love" to prepare for the interview at that consulate.

Just curious - how did you find out it was Tuesdays?? I called this morning to get an udpate and they said the standard 2-4 weeks line and that it wasn't there yet.. I won't stress over calling them everyday if it's truly a Tuesday deal. :)

Correct, Tuesday was the day that NVC tended to send petitions on to the consulates. I only called them once a week.

our stuff got to the NVC and was turned around the next day and sent. guess we got lucky heh

Nah, NVC is fast. The problem is the CSC, they are sending out NOA2's, but not sending the paperwork to the NVC in a timely manner. You went through Vermont, so have nothing to worry about.

Does anyone know if the NVC is open on the weekends? Just wondering if they would receive mail on a Saturday.
