HELLO,

Our interview is scheduled on 27th of march. I just want to know what are the documents i will need for the interview.

all i have for now is,

1. All the paperwork that i sent with AOS Package, appointment letter

2. Marriage Ceritificate back from home country (wife entered US on K-3 visa)

3. Insurance card with my name on it as the sponsor

4. Pictures (wedding and others 30-40 pictures)

5. Military papers showing her name as my dependent, military IDs

6. Life Insurance Benificiary

7. Joint Saving Account, Ceritficate of Deposit and Checking Account (bank statements from past two months)

8. May be cable bill with our name on it (have to check this month bill)

9. Family sharing plan on phone account

10. Apartment lease paper with her name on it

11. Learners permit with the same home address and i too have the same address on my driver license

As the medical is less than one year old, she did it when applying for the visa for K-3, i think its in a package that they gave it to her and she handed it over to the airport at the port of entry so i think we dont have to do the medical again........am i right..............can someone please make me clear on this............

are the above documents enough or do we need some more.............if so can you all please list the extra documents needed............

one more things, we have a different last name, will it create a problem during interview? she likes her last name so she doesnt want to change and i am ok with that.......heheheh :)

thank you all for your help

you guys are great

Yes your list is good.

As for medical, yes the one for visa was sent to USCIS by officer at POE and should be in the file, or they would have asked you to do another in the interview letter. You should have done a vaccination supplement for adjustment of status.

Something wrong with your personal message box preventing my reply so I will reply here:

K-Visas do not require vaccinations, the green-card does.

Anyway, if AOS interview letter does not request that you bring vaccination supplement (I-693A) to the interview, then perhaps the consulate attached the vaccination record to the medical report sent to USCIS in the immigrations packet.

Sau,

We did need the vaccine supplements (K1 & K2) filled out by a Civil Surgeon. I shopped around from a list that was available on the USCIS website, and found one that was willing to fill out the forms without requiring another physical, etc... because my husband's and stepson's physicals were less than 1 year old at the time. I think we paid $40 each to have the supplements filled out.

The interviewing officer asked for them at the AOS interview (in Washington, DC ... well actually the office is in Northern Virginia). The IO noticed that the doctor had forgotten to check the box that said all necessary vaccines were done, and she stopped the interview and sent us back to the Civil Surgeon (2 hours round trip) and told us to bring back the amended form that same day and we did. The IO then approved them and stamped their passports, etc...

I'm not sure if CA will be as strict, but I would not be surprised if they asked for the I-693A vaccine supplement filled out by the civil surgeon...

Just my $.02 ... best wishes for a successful AOS interview! And some of your evidence is great, especially the military ID's and the lease with your wife's name on it. I doubt you'll have any trouble once you resolve the vaccine supplement question.
