I would think for most if not all consulates it is an option... particularly for your situation it has to be...

I've seen here some people had to pick up their packet 3 directly from the embassy.

Is that optional or some embassies require that?

I'm asking because i'm not going to have my interview in my country.

Also note that you can sometimes download the information and forms from the embassy ahead of time so you can have all the forms ready to go when the embassy would otherwise just being able to send the packets out. Check the appropriate embassy website. Good Luck!

28 Jan 2008 I-129F receipted at CSC

29 Jan 2008 NOA1

30 Jan 2008 Touched - filing box here we come....

05 Feb 2008 Hard Copy NOA1 Received in Mail

03 Jun 2008 NOA2

10 Sep 2008 Interview 9:30

16 Jan 2009 Fly back to the USA

?? ??? 2009 Wedding Bells are Ringing
