I just wanted to share with all my fellow Canadians my great news! We were finally approved! This is going to sound crazy, but what do I do now? I'm not prepared at all! I know lots of people have gotten a head start by getting their police check done and booking their medical, but not me! ARGH! ~giggles~

If you have to have fingerprints done for your RCMP check, get that going ASAP...Order your LONG FORM birth certificate, if you dont have that already...Make sure all your Vaccinations are up to date, and schedule an appt with your doctor to get you Immunization record...look over forms DS-156 and DS-230, I believe since youll be going to Vancouver that once you receive your checklist you will FAX those in...you can go ahead and get your pictures taken...you will need a couple for your medical and a couple for your interview..all of that should keep ya busy until you get your packet 3...then you will be ready to get your checklist back to them ASAP!...have fun!

Congratulations! Don't lose that NOA. You will need it for adjustment of status. Don't book your medical until you receive and return your Packet 3 response. You need it to be current (not older than one year) when you apply for AOS so that you don't incur hundreds of dollars in additional charges at a civil surgeon's office to renew it. Your police check is also valid for one year so I would wait for Packet 3 to get that also. Unless, of course, you have some sort of criminal history, which will require the RCMP fingerprint check, as Kimmbo says.

What I would do is start clearing out your closets and home, organizing the things you will be taking with you, and getting rid of the things you won't. THAT is one overwhelming task, lemme tell you.

You probably have time It will take a week or 2 to get to the vancouver consulate amd thena week or 2 till you get Pkg 3. Breathe deepingly
