Wrong Country of Origin on Green Card

Well wife and Daughter's green cards came yesterday, 11 days after the interview. We were concerned about errors because during the interview, the officer noticed USCIS had them in the database as from Taiwan. I have no clue how that happened but he thought he corrected it with his updates at the end of the interview. The ten year expiration is correct on both as are their names and all else.

Anyway, the daughter is traveling back to China in April and her card is correct. My wife and I are traveling in October and hers says Taiwan. With everything else ok and an approval notice with a matching A number, I'm debating whether to bother filing to get the card corrected. I keep hearing it takes several months and is a black hole.

Any suggestions?

I think you would need to send it back with an I-90, but before you do make an infopass appointment to show them it is a USCIS error. Hachemi's name was misspelled and we are still waiting since June for the corrected one. We did request an I-551 stamp in his passport that shows he is a legal resident, can work and travel also. Good luck.

Same happened here. We sent the original card back with I-90 and received the corrected one about a month later. Good luck!
