Hey everyone,

I have noticed that a few of you have mentioned showing tax returns for the I-134. Well I was understood that it was only required if you were self-employed. In my situation I won't have any tax returns ready. I have only been home for one year, and during that year I have been working.

So whats the deal? Thanks

The best practice is to include transcripts of the last three tax returns. Even though the form's instructions don't indicate that requirement, a Consular officer can ask for anything he wants. The same goes for any co-sponsor.

In your case, you would include your 2007 tax return including any W2 or 1099 forms of if you have time, get the transcript after you file. Then attach a signed letter from you indicating you didn't file in 05 or 06 because you had no income.

State your gross income before taxes.
