Hello VJ'ers. I just wanna ask those who are having their interview this March. Do we need to present the 2007 ITR of our fiance during the interview? I have the 2004-2006 ITRs. I know we need to present the most recent ITRs but according to my fiance, he'll be getting a copy of his ITR maybe by March. Will the 2004-2006 suffice? :help:

I could not give the most reliable answer for this, as I am also on the same stage as you are in this process. BUt what I can share with you is the fact that our lawyer asked for the 2007 ITR of my fiance. So my fiance is filing his 2007 ITR by the end of this month...So I hope this gave you a little idea rather than confusion

I can only say that an ITR wasnt sent, however a 'notarized copy' of my 2006 was given/sent as well as W-2 attached. And this was acceptable to the consulate. Having said that, I really think that it depends on who will interview you. So, in retrospect, I would have also had the ITR available as well, although we weren't asked for an ITR, but asked for the actual return.

*we are in the year 2008 and if you can obtain the 2007 ITR, then I would have this available, the more proof, facts, documents..the better...just my opinion.

Did he file already for 2007? Here right now in the USA they are recommending people to file electronically, because the IRS hasnt the new forms yet available. Its something to do with Congress here...maybe someone can shed some light on this.

If he has filed his 2007 already, make a copy and have it notarized and sent to you along with the W-2 for 2007. Better safe than sorry, just my opinion.

Someone had told me the 2006 is still the latest ITR until the April deadline for filing 07 W2.

I feel screwed myself.. Our interview is for Feb 20th and my 07 ITR is below the P-Line..

The only thing I can think of right now is prepare a co-sponsor..

So far so good the CR-IR interviews that I have asked told me Consul hasn't asked for Financial docs on their interview..
