We hope to see many more shows together.

Mew

During the week I went to visit her in Vancouver, Mew was playing. I had heard good things about them and heard a couple songs, but wasn't really a fan. Luckily, we decided to go as something to do. Good call. It was a great, beautiful show and they are now one of my favorite bands. For those who haven't heard of Mew, here's a taste:

Jonas' voice is simply amazing. I didn't expect it to be as good live as it is and was happily surprised. He has tone control like Jeff Buckley.

We saw Los Hermanos, a Brazilian band, in Buenos Aires when we happened to walk by the marquee of a venue and see that they were playing. We would joke that it was probably actually going to be "Los Hermanos en la fraternidad del tango" (excuse our non Spanish)... Turned out to be the actual Brazilian rock band.

Here we've seen a lot of stuff. Lately, all stuff for my master's thesis (which holy ####### is due in 17 hrs) so Balkan brass bands and stuff.

ANewKindofFeelin: It sounds like an even more emo Jimmy Eat World circa 2000.

I think that's the first time I've ever heard them described as emo. It may just be the song. They actually have big time progressive influences. I learned of them on a dredg message board.

They take a little time to grow on people because of Jonas' high vocal range.

ZZ Top.

Last night we watched the Blue Man Group on HDNet. Now Luz wants to see them. They are coming to Peoria April 1 so I think I will get us some tickets.
